«قوقل» تطلق أدوات حماية جديدة لتجنب الهجمات الإلكترونية

Google has announced the launch of a new set of security tools designed to help users regain access to their Gmail accounts more easily, in order to avoid further cyber attacks.

Google revealed a new feature called "Recovery Contacts" that allows users to choose trusted individuals, such as family members or close friends, to assist them in recovering their account if it gets locked.

In this context, Claire Forrest and Sri Ram Kara from Google’s user identity team stated: "This feature is a secure way for users to enlist trusted people in case other recovery methods are unavailable, and the feature can be activated via the security page in the Google account, allowing users to add up to 10 trusted individuals to help recover locked accounts."

Google also pointed out a new login method known as "Sign in with Mobile Number," which allows Android users to access their accounts using just their phone number without the need for a password.

Once the phone number is entered, the accounts linked to it appear, and the user is asked to confirm their identity by entering the device's screen lock code, such as a PIN or fingerprint.

For his part, Eugene Lederman, Director of Android Security and Privacy at Google, explained that this feature will be gradually rolled out worldwide and will soon appear on phones.

Google confirmed that it aims to reduce reliance on passwords and replace them with more secure and convenient verification methods, especially in light of the increasing digital threats targeting users around the world.
