ضرب زلزال بقوة 5.3 درجة على مقياس ريختر، اليوم (الأحد)، مقاطعة «بابوا» شرق إندونيسيا.
وذكر بيان لوكالة الأرصاد الجوية وعلم المناخ والجيوفيزياء بإندونيسيا، أن مركز الزلزال وقع على بعد 100 كيلومترٍ من مدينة «سارمي» الواقعة في المقاطعة، وعلى عمق 20 كيلومترًا.
ولم ترد تقارير عن وقوع أضرار مادية أو خسائر بشرية جراء الزلزال.
وتضرب الزلازل بانتظام أجزاءً مختلفة من إندونيسيا حيث تقع على حزام المحيط الهادئ المعروف باسم «حلقة النار»، وتلتقي العديد من الصفائح التكتونية وتسبب نشاطًا بركانيًا وزلزاليًا متكررًا.
A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck the "Papua" province in eastern Indonesia today (Sunday).
An announcement from the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency stated that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 100 kilometers from the city of "Sarmi" in the province, at a depth of 20 kilometers.
No reports of material damage or human casualties have been received as a result of the earthquake.
Earthquakes regularly hit various parts of Indonesia, which is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where many tectonic plates meet, causing frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
