شهدت الهند مأساة صادمة مع ارتفاع حصيلة ضحايا التدافع في التجمع الانتخابي للنجم السينمائي المعتزل والسياسي الصاعد جوزيف فيجاي إلى 40 قتيلاً وأكثر من 50 مصاباً، في حادث وقع مساء السبت بمنطقة كارور في ولاية تاميل نادو.

تجمّع عشرات الآلاف من أنصار حزب فيجاي «تاميلاجا فيتري كازاغام» على بعد 400 كيلومتر جنوب تشيناي، بانتظار خطابه الانتخابي ضمن جولته استعداداً لانتخابات 2026. غير أن تأخر ظهوره من الظهيرة حتى الرابعة عصراً، أدى إلى اندفاع جماهيري نحو المسرح المؤقت، ما تسبب في تدافع مميت أودى بحياة 5 أطفال و17 امرأة و13 رجلاً و5 فتيات.
موقف الحكومة
وزير الصحة الولائي أكد أن معظم الضحايا فارقوا الحياة قبل وصولهم إلى المستشفيات. فيما أُعلن عن تشكيل لجنة تحقيق برئاسة القاضية المتقاعدة أرونا جاغاديسان، مع تخصيص تعويض قدره مليون روبية لكل أسرة فقدت أحد أفرادها.

الشرطة فتحت تحقيقاً جنائياً أولياً بحق قيادات الحزب بتهمة الإهمال، مشيرة إلى أن الحضور بلغ 40 ألف شخص، رغم منح الإذن لـ4 آلاف فقط، وسط ضعف في التنسيق الأمني.

However, his delayed appearance from noon until 4 PM led to a rush of the crowd towards the temporary stage, resulting in a deadly stampede that claimed the lives of 5 children, 17 women, 13 men, and 5 girls.
Government's Position
The state health minister confirmed that most of the victims died before reaching the hospitals. A committee of inquiry was announced, headed by retired judge Aruna Jagadeesan, with a compensation of one million rupees allocated for each family that lost a member.

The police opened a preliminary criminal investigation against party leaders on charges of negligence, noting that attendance reached 40,000 people, despite permission being granted for only 4,000, amidst poor security coordination.
