أعلن وزير الأمن العام في المكسيك مقتل 15 شخصاً في حادثة سير مروعة وقعت على الطريق السريع الرابط بين مدينتي ميريدا وكامبيتشي في شبه جزيرة يوكاتان.
وأسفرت الحادثة عن اصطدام شاحنة مقطورة مع سيارة خاصة وأخرى أجرة، ما أدى إلى سقوط عدد كبير من الضحايا في مشهد مأساوي هز الرأي العام المحلي.

من جانبه، قال حاكم ولاية يوكاتان خواكين دياز مينا في بيان نشره عبر منصة إكس: «نعبر عن تضامننا ودعمنا للعائلات المتضررة خلال هذه اللحظة المؤلمة».
وأضاف أن فرق الطوارئ والأمن والصحة هرعت على الفور إلى موقع الحادثة لتقديم المساعدة العاجلة للمصابين والتعامل مع تداعيات الكارثة.
وتشهد المكسيك حوادث سير قاتلة نتيجة سرعة المركبات وحالة الطرق، حيث تسعى السلطات المحلية لتشديد إجراءات السلامة المرورية وتقليل معدلات الحوادث المميتة.

For his part, the Governor of Yucatán, Joaquín Díaz Mena, stated in a statement published on the X platform: "We express our solidarity and support for the affected families during this painful moment."
He added that emergency, security, and health teams rushed immediately to the scene of the accident to provide urgent assistance to the injured and deal with the aftermath of the disaster.
Mexico is witnessing fatal traffic accidents due to vehicle speed and road conditions, as local authorities strive to tighten traffic safety measures and reduce fatal accident rates.
