أثار مقطع متداول على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي موجة من السخرية، بعدما ظهرت فيه شابتان أمريكيتان كانتا تنويان السفر من روما إلى مدينة نيس (جنوب فرنسا)، لكنهما وجدتا نفسيهما على متن رحلة متجهة إلى تونس.
وتعود القصة إلى أنه بعد أن فاتتهما الرحلة الأولى، طلبتا من مطار روما تذكرتين جديدتين للرحلة التالية. غير أن سوء فهم أدى إلى التباس بين عبارتي«to Nice» (إلى نيس) و«Tunis» (تونس)، لتصعدا إلى الطائرة الخطأ.
ولم تنتبها إلى الأمر إلا بعد جلوسهما وسؤالهما لإحدى الراكبات، التي أوضحت لهما الوجهة الحقيقية، قبل أن تؤكد مضيفة الطيران ذلك. حينها تساءلتا بدهشة: «أين تقع تونس؟ وأين تقع دولة تونس؟»، ما كشف جهلهما الواضح بالجغرافيا، نقلاً عن «مونت كارلو الدولية».
وجمعت مقاطع الفيديو التي نشرتهما الشابتان عشرات ملايين المشاهدات على تيك توك، حيث تابع الركاب مغامرتهما الطريفة مع موظفي المطار أثناء محاولتهما العودة إلى الأراضي الفرنسية كما كانتا تأملان.
وفي فيديو آخر، ظهرت الشابتان داخل مكتب في مطار تونس، ثم عند شباك شركة الخطوط التونسية «تونس إير»، بينما واصلتا اعتبار أن أفريقيا «دولة» بحد ذاتها. وفي مقطع آخر، ظهرتا وهما تستعرضان شكوى صاغها لهما تطبيق«ChatGPT»، تعتزمان توجيهها إلى الشركة التي اعتبرتاها مسؤولة عن الخطأ.
وبعد سلسلة من الشكاوى، تمكنت المسافرتان في النهاية من حجز رحلة في اللحظة الأخيرة لمغادرة تونس. وأظهرت أحدث منشوراتهما على المنصات الاجتماعية وجودهما على متن طائرة تابعة لـ«تونس إير»، لكن من دون الكشف عن وجهتهما التالية.
A viral clip on social media sparked a wave of ridicule after it featured two American young women who intended to travel from Rome to Nice (southern France), but found themselves on a flight heading to Tunisia.
The story goes that after missing their first flight, they requested two new tickets for the next flight from Rome airport. However, a misunderstanding led to confusion between the phrases "to Nice" and "Tunis," causing them to board the wrong plane.
They only realized the mistake after sitting down and asking one of the passengers, who clarified the true destination to them, before a flight attendant confirmed it. They then wondered in astonishment: "Where is Tunisia? And where is the country of Tunisia?" which revealed their obvious ignorance of geography, according to "Monte Carlo International."
The videos that the young women posted garnered tens of millions of views on TikTok, as passengers followed their amusing adventure with airport staff while trying to return to French territory as they had hoped.
In another video, the young women appeared inside an office at Tunis airport, then at the counter of Tunisian Airlines "Tunis Air," while continuing to consider Africa as a "country" in itself. In another clip, they showcased a complaint drafted for them by the "ChatGPT" application, which they intended to direct to the company they held responsible for the mistake.
After a series of complaints, the travelers eventually managed to book a last-minute flight to leave Tunisia. Their latest posts on social media showed them on a plane belonging to "Tunis Air," but without revealing their next destination.
