أعلن مطار هيثرو في لندن، أكبر مطارات أوروبا، إعادة فتح المبنى رقم 4 بعد إخلائه أمس (الإثنين) بسبب حادث محتمل لمواد خطرة، بعد أن أكدت الجهات المختصة أن الموقع آمن.
واعتذر المطار عن الاضطرابات التي تسبب بها الحادث، مؤكدا عبر منصة «إكس» أنه يبذل قصارى جهده لضمان مغادرة جميع الرحلات وفقا للجدول الزمني.
إغلاق مؤقت
من جهة أخرى، أفاد متحدث باسم خدمة الإطفاء في لندن بأن الفرق المتخصصة أنهت استجابتها للحادث. وكان المبنى رقم 4، الذي يخدم الرحلات الأوروبية والدولية طويلة المدى، قد أُغلق مؤقتا بينما أجرت فرق الإطفاء تقييما للموقع.
وأشار المسؤولون إلى أن حوالى 20 شخصا خضعوا للفحص الطبي في الموقع بواسطة فرق الإسعاف، دون الكشف عن طبيعة الحادث.
مقاطع فيديو متداولة
وتداولت مواقع على الإنترنت مقاطع فيديو غير مؤكدة تُظهر عشرات الركاب ينتظرون خارج المبنى، وعلى الرغم من الحادث أظهرت صفحة المغادرة على موقع المطار الإلكتروني استمرار الرحلات في الإقلاع.
يُذكر أن المطار بأكمله أُغلق لمدة يوم تقريبا في مارس الماضي بسبب حريق هائل في محطة كهربائية قريبة، ما تسبب في تعطيل الرحلات الجوية عالميا وتكدس الآلاف من الركاب.
Heathrow Airport in London, the largest airport in Europe, announced the reopening of Terminal 4 after it was evacuated yesterday (Monday) due to a potential hazardous materials incident, after authorities confirmed that the site is safe.
The airport apologized for the disruptions caused by the incident, confirming via the "X" platform that it is doing its utmost to ensure all flights depart on schedule.
Temporary Closure
On another note, a spokesperson for the London Fire Service reported that specialized teams have completed their response to the incident. Terminal 4, which serves European and long-haul international flights, was temporarily closed while fire crews assessed the site.
Officials indicated that around 20 people underwent medical checks on-site by ambulance teams, without disclosing the nature of the incident.
Circulating Videos
Unverified videos circulated online showing dozens of passengers waiting outside the terminal, and despite the incident, the departure page on the airport's website indicated that flights continued to take off.
It is worth noting that the entire airport was closed for nearly a day last March due to a massive fire at a nearby power station, causing global flight disruptions and stranding thousands of passengers.
