قُتل رجل على يد الشرطة، صباح أمس (الأحد)، بعد أن دخل مركز شرطة 73 في بروكلين وهاجم ضابطاً بسكين كبير، وفقاً لما نشرته صحيفة نيويورك تايمز.
تفاصيل الحادثة
وقالت شرطة نيويورك (NYPD) إن الرجل دخل المبنى عبر الباب الخلفي المخصص فقط للاستخدام الشرطي، وحينها واجهته الضابطة وطلبت منه الدخول من الباب الأمامي إذا كان بحاجة للمساعدة. لكن الرجل أخرج سكين جزار بطول 14 بوصة وطعن الضابطة في وجهها.
وتم نقل الضابطة إلى مستشفى محلي لتلقي العلاج، وأكد العمدة إريك آدامز أنها في تحسن وبروح معنوية جيدة. وقد أظهر فيديو منشور على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي من قبل نقابة الشرطة الضابطة وهي تُخرج من المستشفى وسط تصفيق الزملاء.
ملاحقة الرجل وإطلاق النار
بعد أن فشل جهاز الصعق الكهربائي في توقيفه، تبعه عدد من الضباط في مطاردة امتدت لشوارع عدة، وأمروا الرجل بإلقاء السلاح، لكنه لم يستجب. وعندما حاول مهاجمة ضابط آخر في شارع ساراتوغا بين Eastern Parkway وPark Place، أطلق الضباط النار عليه أكثر من مرة، ما أدى إلى وفاته في مستشفى بروكديل.

قال رئيس دوريات NYPD فيليب ريفيرا في مؤتمر صحفي أمس: «يواجه ضباطنا مخاطر يومية في الشوارع، لكن مواجهة شخص مسلح يدخل مركز الشرطة مباشرة تُعد نوعاً آخر من الخطر».
A man was shot and killed by police early yesterday (Sunday) after he entered the 73rd precinct in Brooklyn and attacked an officer with a large knife, according to the New York Times.
Details of the Incident
The New York Police Department (NYPD) stated that the man entered the building through a back door designated for police use only, where he was confronted by the officer who asked him to enter through the front door if he needed assistance. However, the man pulled out a 14-inch butcher knife and stabbed the officer in the face.
The officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and Mayor Eric Adams confirmed that she is improving and in good spirits. A video posted on social media by the police union showed the officer being discharged from the hospital amid applause from colleagues.
Pursuit of the Man and Shooting
After a Taser failed to subdue him, several officers pursued the man in a chase that spanned several streets, ordering him to drop the weapon, but he did not comply. When he attempted to attack another officer on Saratoga Street between Eastern Parkway and Park Place, the officers shot him multiple times, resulting in his death at Brookdale Hospital.
Police Statement
NYPD Patrol Chief Philip Rivera said at a press conference yesterday: “Our officers face daily dangers on the streets, but encountering an armed individual entering a police precinct directly is a whole different level of danger.”
