مقطع فيديو قصير لا يتجاوز 30 ثانية، أثار ضجة على الإنترنت بعد أن أظهر ما يشبه «باباً عملاقاً» محفوراً بدقة وسط الصخور الجبلية شمال شرقي كازاخستان، قرب الحدود الصينية.
في اللقطات، يظهر مستكشفان يقتربان من الموقع وسط الثلوج، قبل أن تكشف طائرة درون عن مدخل نصف دائري، يشبه بوابات المعابد القديمة أو مداخل الحصون المنسية.
وسرعان ما انتشرت التكهنات: هل هو أثر لحضارة مفقودة؟ أم مدخل لسفينة فضائية مدفونة؟!
لكن الجيولوجيين قدّموا تفسيرات أكثر عقلانية.
يقول البروفيسور مارك ألين من جامعة دورهام: «الأرجح أنه ناتج عن تآكل طبيعي في الصخور، شبيه بتكوّن الأقواس الصخرية في مناطق مثل يوتا».
ورغم ميل البعض للخيال، لا يوجد حتى الآن أي دليل على وجود تدخل بشري أو فضائي في تشكيل هذا «الباب الغامض».
ويبقى السؤال معلقا: هل الطبيعة فقط من نحتت هذا المشهد... أم أن هناك قصة أخرى خلف الصخور؟
A short video clip lasting no more than 30 seconds has caused a stir on the internet after it showed what appears to be a "giant door" intricately carved into the mountain rocks in northeastern Kazakhstan, near the Chinese border.
In the footage, two explorers approach the site amidst the snow, before a drone reveals a semicircular entrance that resembles the gates of ancient temples or the entrances to forgotten fortresses.
Speculation quickly spread: Is it a remnant of a lost civilization? Or the entrance to a buried spaceship?!
However, geologists have offered more rational explanations.
Professor Mark Allen from Durham University says, "It is most likely the result of natural erosion in the rocks, similar to the formation of rock arches in areas like Utah."
Despite some people's inclination towards fantasy, there is currently no evidence of human or extraterrestrial intervention in the formation of this "mysterious door."
The question remains: Did nature alone carve this scene... or is there another story behind the rocks?
