في لحظة مليئة بالروحانية والإيمان، شهد مسجد الميناء الكبير بمدينة الغردقة، إحدى أهم المعالم الدينية والسياحية بمحافظة البحر الأحمر، إعلان سائح أرجنتيني يُدعى «ألبرت»، يبلغ من العمر 65 عامًا، اعتناقه الإسلام.
هذا الحدث المؤثر، الذي تزامن مع يوم ميلاده الخامس والستين، جذب انتباه العشرات من المصلين الذين ملأت وجوههم الفرحة والدعاء، فيما علت أصوات التكبيرات والتهليل في جنبات المسجد.
واختار «ألبرت»، الذي أصبح يُعرف الآن باسم «محمد»، مسجد الميناء الكبير ليكون مسرحًا لبداية رحلته الإيمانية الجديدة.
وقد حضر الحدث عدد من المصلين والزوار، الذين شاركوا في تهنئة «محمد» على قراره، مما أضفى جوًا من البهجة والتآخي.
وبحسب إمام وخطيب مسجد الميناء الشيخ حسام محمود، فإن قرار «ألبرت» جاء بعد فترة من التأمل والتعرف على تعاليم الإسلام، حيث تأثر بالسماحة والقيم الروحية التي يحملها الدين، مشيرًا إلى أن السائح الأرجنتيني «ألبرت» تلقى شرحًا وافيًا عن أركان الإسلام ومبادئه قبل نطقه بالشهادتين، في خطوة أكدت رغبته الصادقة في الانضمام إلى الدين الإسلامي.
يُعتبر مسجد الميناء الكبير وجهة رئيسية للسياح الأجانب الذين يزورون الغردقة، حيث يستقبل يوميًا مئات الزوار من جنسيات مختلفة، خصوصا من أوروبا، وتم افتتاحه عام 2012 ويمتد على مساحة 8 آلاف متر مربع، ويتسع لأكثر من 7 آلاف مصلٍ ويتميز بتصميمه المعماري الإسلامي الفريد الذي يجذب السياح من مختلف أنحاء العالم.
ويوفر المسجد مكتبة ثقافية إسلامية تحتوي على كتب ومواد تعليمية بمختلف اللغات، مثل الإنجليزية والألمانية والروسية، مما يسهم في نشر الوعي بالإسلام وتعاليمه.
كما شهد المسجد على مر السنوات إشهار إسلام العديد من الأجانب، حيث سجل إحصاء سابق عام 2017 إشهار إسلام 81 أجنبيًا، آخرهم مهندس أمريكي يُدعى «كورت فلور».
In a moment filled with spirituality and faith, the Grand Port Mosque in Hurghada, one of the most important religious and tourist landmarks in the Red Sea Governorate, witnessed the announcement of an Argentine tourist named "Albert," who is 65 years old, embracing Islam.
This touching event, which coincided with his sixty-fifth birthday, attracted the attention of dozens of worshippers whose faces were filled with joy and prayer, while the sounds of takbirs and tahleels rose in the corners of the mosque.
Albert, who is now known as "Mohammed," chose the Grand Port Mosque to be the stage for the beginning of his new faith journey.
A number of worshippers and visitors attended the event, participating in congratulating Mohammed on his decision, which added an atmosphere of joy and brotherhood.
According to the Imam and preacher of the Grand Port Mosque, Sheikh Hossam Mahmoud, Albert's decision came after a period of contemplation and learning about the teachings of Islam, as he was influenced by the tolerance and spiritual values that the religion embodies. He pointed out that the Argentine tourist Albert received a comprehensive explanation of the pillars and principles of Islam before he recited the two testimonies of faith, in a step that confirmed his sincere desire to join the Islamic faith.
The Grand Port Mosque is considered a main destination for foreign tourists visiting Hurghada, as it receives hundreds of visitors daily from various nationalities, especially from Europe. It was opened in 2012 and spans an area of 8,000 square meters, accommodating more than 7,000 worshippers, and is distinguished by its unique Islamic architectural design that attracts tourists from all over the world.
The mosque also provides an Islamic cultural library containing books and educational materials in various languages, such as English, German, and Russian, contributing to raising awareness of Islam and its teachings.
Over the years, the mosque has witnessed the conversion of many foreigners to Islam, with a previous census in 2017 recording the conversion of 81 foreigners, the latest of whom was an American engineer named "Kurt Floor."
