ضرب زلزال مدمر بقوة 6 درجات شرقي أفغانستان، مركزه إقليم ننجارهار قرب الحدود الباكستانية، مخلّفاً دماراً واسعاً في القرى والمنازل الطينية والحجرية الهشة. الهزة الأرضية تسببت في تسوية قرى بأكملها في ولاية كنر بالأرض، فيما عمّت حالة من الذعر بين السكان.
وبحسب السلطات الأفغانية، ارتفعت حصيلة الضحايا إلى أكثر من 800 قتيل ونحو 2800 جريح، وسط توقعات بزيادة الأعداد مع استمرار أعمال البحث. فرق الإنقاذ تواصل جهودها على مدار الساعة، مدعومة برحلات جوية وصلت إلى 40 رحلة لنقل المصابين وإجلاء الناجين من بين الأنقاض.
ورغم حجم الكارثة، لم تُعلن حتى الآن مساعدات دولية رسمية لدعم جهود الإغاثة، ما يفاقم معاناة الأهالي. وتُصنّف أفغانستان من أكثر مناطق العالم عرضة للزلازل، ما يجعل تكرار مثل هذه المآسي أمراً قائماً، خاصة مع هشاشة البنية التحتية وضعف الإمكانات المحلية.

A devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 6 struck eastern Afghanistan, centered in the Nangarhar province near the Pakistani border, causing widespread destruction in the fragile clay and stone villages and homes. The tremor resulted in entire villages in Kunar province being flattened, while panic spread among the residents.
According to Afghan authorities, the death toll has risen to over 800, with nearly 2,800 injured, amid expectations that the numbers will increase as search efforts continue. Rescue teams are working around the clock, supported by airlifts that have reached 40 flights to transport the injured and evacuate survivors from the rubble.
Despite the scale of the disaster, no official international aid has yet been announced to support relief efforts, exacerbating the suffering of the residents. Afghanistan is classified as one of the most earthquake-prone regions in the world, making the recurrence of such tragedies a real possibility, especially given the fragility of the infrastructure and the weakness of local resources.
