وأوضحت إدارة الإطفاء في بيان أن ثلاثة أشخاص على الأقل في حالة حرجة بعد إصابتهم في شارع سانتا مونيكا بشرق هوليوود. وأشار فان جيربن إلى أن صفاً من الناس - غالبيتهم من النساء - كانوا ينتظرون دخول ملهى ليلي عندما صدمتهم سيارة نيسان فيرسا، التي صدمت أيضاً شاحنة تاكو ومنصة خدمة سيارات. وأضاف أن المسعفين اكتشفوا إصابة أحد المرضى بطلق ناري. لافتاً إلى أن هوية الشخص لم تُعرف بعد. وقال: «الحادثة قيد التحقيق من قبل الشرطة». سيُجري قسم شرطة لوس أنجلوس تحقيقاً واسعاً في هذا الأمر.

من جانبها، نقلت شبكة «إي بي سي نيوز» عن الشرطة في لوس أنجلوس قولها إنّ التحقيقات الأولية تشير إلى أنّ السائق فقد وعيَه وصدم حشداً خارج ملهى ليلي. ولم يكن من الممكن التأكد من هذه المعلومات على الفور.
وتقع المنطقة التي وقعت فيها الحادثة على مقربة من أماكن مزدحمة مثل «بوليفارد صن سيت» و«ووك أوف فايم» الرصيف الذي تمّ تزيين أرضيته بنجوم تحمل أسماء شخصيات سينمائية.

Adam Van Gerben, the media officer for the Los Angeles Fire Department, explained that the victims were transported to local hospitals and injury treatment centers.
The fire department stated in a statement that at least three people are in critical condition after being injured on Santa Monica Boulevard in East Hollywood. Van Gerben noted that a line of people—mostly women—were waiting to enter the nightclub when they were struck by a Nissan Versa, which also hit a taco truck and a car service platform. He added that paramedics discovered one of the victims had a gunshot wound, noting that the identity of the person is still unknown. He said, “The incident is under investigation by the police.” The Los Angeles Police Department will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
He continued, saying, “People inside the nightclub came out to help in the minutes before emergency teams arrived to assist the victims.”
For its part, ABC News reported that the Los Angeles police stated that preliminary investigations indicate that the driver lost consciousness and struck a crowd outside the nightclub. This information could not be immediately verified.
The area where the incident occurred is close to busy locations such as Sunset Boulevard and the Walk of Fame, the sidewalk decorated with stars bearing the names of movie characters.
