The Egyptian Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mohamed Abdel-Latif, today (Sunday) announced the results of the first round of the technical diploma exams for the academic year 2024 / 2025.

The exams, which were conducted from May 22 to June 23, 2025, saw (849,533) students participating across (2,648) committees.

According to an official statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Education, Deputy Minister of Education and Technical Education Dr. Ayman Mohamed Bahaa El-Din announced that the overall pass rate for all types and systems of exam candidates is as follows: the total number of successful students is (595,848), with a pass rate of (70.47%), while the number of students who failed is (44,928), among them (204,761) have the right to enter the second round.

The Deputy Minister explained that the results of the technical diploma certificates have special characteristics, as the names of the certificates in technical education reach up to 25, due to the diversity of specializations: industrial, agricultural, commercial, and hotel management, as well as the existence of two study systems (3 years and 5 years), and more than one method of study, including regular education and dual training, vocational preparation, and applied technology.

The Deputy Minister announced the main features of the results as follows:

- 5-year system: 18,938 students attended (4 certificates) with a pass rate of 89.66%

- 3-year system - General: 497,952 students attended (4 certificates) with a pass rate of 63.59%

- 3-year system - Dual education and training: 10,123 students attended (4 certificates) with a pass rate of 84.67%

- 3-year system - Developed programs according to competency methodology: 249,386 students attended (4 certificates) with a pass rate of 89.63%

- Applied technology 3-year system: 3,261 students attended (4 certificates) with a pass rate of 80.65%

- Applied technology 5-year system: 56 students attended one certificate with a pass rate of 98.21%

- 3-year vocational preparation system: 54,435 students attended (3 certificates) with a pass rate of 32.51%

- The number of integrated students who attended the exam - 3-year system - was 11,384 students with a pass rate of 85.48%

- The number of integrated students who attended the exam - 5-year system - was 2 students with a pass rate of 100%

- The overall pass rate for all types and systems of exam candidates is as follows: total successful students 595,848 with a pass rate of (70.47%)

- Total students eligible to enter the second round is 204,761 with a rate of (24.22%), total failures is 44,928 with a rate of (5.31%)

The Deputy Minister of Education and Technical Education congratulated the top students of the technical diploma certificates for the year 2025 via phone, totaling 34 students (25 female + 9 male) from 14 governorates including Matrouh, Beheira, Sohag, Kafr El-Sheikh, Alexandria, Cairo, Qalyubia, Sharqia, New Valley, Giza, Assiut, Menoufia, and Suez.

The Minister of Education confirmed that technical education is the true future of Egypt and a fundamental pillar of comprehensive development and Egypt's Vision 2030, due to its pivotal role in preparing technically and professionally qualified cadres for the local and international labor market, noting that the ministry continues to expand applied technology schools and develop curricula in collaboration with industrial partners.

The Minister of Education also thanked all technical education staff, students, and parents for their tangible efforts throughout the academic year and their commitment to attending school for practical training and theoretical lessons according to the study plan.

The minister praised the success of technical education in adhering to achieving the planned goals according to the strategy for the development of technical education, one of the results of which this academic year was the diploma exam - for the fourth time - with the participation of labor market representatives alongside Ministry of Education teachers in the final evaluation committees for students studying the developed curricula according to the required professional competency methodology in the labor market, thus strengthening the relationship between technical education and the labor market.
