كشفت مديرية الأمن العام في الأردن اليوم (الأحد) مصدر المشروبات الكحولية السامة التي تسببت في وفاة 7 أشخاص بمحافظة الزرقاء، مؤكدة أنها صُنعت داخل مصنع مرخّص لإنتاج المشروبات الكحولية تم إغلاقه على الفور وتوقيف المسؤولين عنه.
وأوضح المتحدث باسم المديرية أن التحقيقات الفنية أثبتت وجود مادة الميثانول السامة داخل خزانات الإنتاج والتعبئة في المصنع، وتم ضبط كميات كبيرة من منتجاته التي كانت تُباع تحت أسماء تجارية مختلفة في الأسواق.
وأشار إلى أن الفرق المختصة عملت على تتبع خط توزيع تلك المنتجات، وسحبتها من محلات بيع المشروبات الكحولية في عدد من المحافظات، في محاولة لمنع تسجيل مزيد من الضحايا، فيما لا تزال حالة واحدة حرجة قيد العلاج في المستشفى.
وأكدت مديرية الأمن العام أن التحقيقات تجري بالتنسيق مع مؤسسة الغذاء والدواء، تمهيداً لإحالة المتسببين إلى القضاء ومحاسبتهم وفق أحكام القانون.
The Public Security Directorate in Jordan revealed today (Sunday) the source of the toxic alcoholic beverages that caused the death of 7 people in Zarqa Governorate, confirming that they were produced in a licensed factory for the production of alcoholic beverages, which has been immediately closed and the responsible individuals detained.
The spokesperson for the directorate explained that technical investigations proved the presence of the toxic substance methanol inside the production and filling tanks in the factory, and large quantities of its products, which were being sold under various brand names in the markets, were seized.
He noted that specialized teams worked to trace the distribution line of those products and withdrew them from liquor stores in several governorates, in an attempt to prevent further casualties, while one critical case remains under treatment in the hospital.
The Public Security Directorate confirmed that investigations are being conducted in coordination with the Food and Drug Administration, in preparation for referring those responsible to the judiciary and holding them accountable according to the provisions of the law.
