اعتقلت السلطات الهندية مدوِّنة السفر الشهيرة جوتي مالهوترا للاشتباه في قيامها بالتجسس لصالح باكستان، في خضم تصاعد التوتر بين الدولتين.
وألقت الشرطة الهندية القبض على مدوِّنة السفر جيوتي مالهوترا، من ولاية هاريانا الشمالية، بتهمة الاشتباه في التجسس لصالح باكستان، في العملية الأمنية التي أُطلق عليها اسم «أوبريشن سيندور»، وجاءت في أعقاب الهجوم الدامي الذي شهدته منطقة باهالجام وأسفرت عن حملة اعتقالات واسعة في بضع ولايات هندية، في ظل تصاعد التوترات بين الجارتين، عقب صراع عسكري استمر لأربعة أيام هذا الشهر.
لكن المفاجأة كانت بتورط مالهوترا (31 عاماً) صاحبة الظهور اللامع والمؤثر في مواقع التواصل التي اتُهمت بأنها كانت على تواصل مباشر مع ضابط باكستاني يُدعى إحسان الرحمن الملقب بـ«دانش» ويعمل في المفوضية العليا الباكستانية في نيودلهي.
وأفاد مسؤول رفيع في الشرطة، بأن مالهوترا متهمة بمشاركة معلومات حساسة مع جهات باكستانية. وتُعد هذه النوعية من التوقيفات أمراً شائعاً بين البلدين، لكن توقيت القبض على مالهوترا أثار اهتماماً واسعاً، لاسيما أنه جاء بعد أعنف مواجهة عسكرية بين الهند وباكستان منذ عقود، ما زاد المخاوف من اندلاع حرب شاملة. وفقا لما أوردته «CNN».
بحسب رواية الشرطة الهندية، كانت مالهوترا على تواصل مع عميل استخبارات باكستاني عمل على استدراجها، واستمرت هذه العلاقة حتى خلال المعركة الدامية الأخيرة بين البلدين.
وقال قائد الشرطة ششانك كومار ساوان: «كانت مدوِّنة سفر، لكن أثناء التحقيق تبين أنها سقطت في هذا الفخ سعياً وراء المشاهدات والمتابعين والمحتوى المنتشر».
وأضاف ساوان أن مالهوترا سافرت إلى باكستان في رحلات «ممولة»، وكانت على اتصال بمؤثرين آخرين على «يوتيوب» يُشتبه بتواصلهم أيضاً مع جهات استخباراتية باكستانية.

However, the surprise was the involvement of Malhotra (31 years old), a prominent and influential figure on social media, who has been accused of being in direct contact with a Pakistani officer named Ehsan Rahman, nicknamed "Danish," who works at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.
A senior police official reported that Malhotra is accused of sharing sensitive information with Pakistani entities. Such arrests are common between the two countries, but the timing of Malhotra's arrest has garnered significant attention, especially as it came after the most intense military confrontation between India and Pakistan in decades, raising fears of an all-out war, according to CNN.
According to the Indian police's account, Malhotra was in contact with a Pakistani intelligence agent who lured her, and this relationship continued even during the recent bloody battle between the two countries.
Police Chief Shashank Kumar Sawan stated, "She was a travel blogger, but during the investigation, it became clear that she fell into this trap in pursuit of views, followers, and viral content."
Sawan added that Malhotra traveled to Pakistan on "funded" trips and was in contact with other influencers on YouTube who are also suspected of communicating with Pakistani intelligence entities.
