Generosity in Saudi society takes forms that go beyond financial giving; a donor meets the needs of a family, another gives blood to a patient, a third donates an organ that restores life to a person, and a benefactor helps release a debtor from prison, while another contributes to securing a home for a family. Among these images, the story of "Saudi generosity for Saudis" unfolds, as a deeply rooted social value transforms into an organized national system that measures its impact in billions and millions of donation operations and thousands of beneficiaries.
Official statistics from the national charitable platform "Ehsan" reveal that public donations since the platform's launch have exceeded 17 billion riyals, while donations to the Ehsan Endowment Fund have surpassed 2.5 billion riyals. The platform has recorded hundreds of millions of donation operations, indicating the expansion of community participation and the transformation of digital donations into one of the most prominent paths of charitable work in the Kingdom.
In a form of generosity measured in life-giving drops, the Kingdom has recorded hundreds of thousands of blood donors. According to the Ministry of Health, the number of blood donors exceeded 700,000 in 2023. The ministry also reported the results of an international study that included 28 countries, where Saudis recorded a 58% participation rate in blood donation, achieving first place among the countries included in the study.
The spirit of giving extends to organ donation. According to the annual report of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation for 2024, 1,706 organ transplant operations were performed from living donors, including 1,284 kidney transplants and 422 liver transplants, in addition to 393 transplant operations from deceased donors; bringing the total to 2,099 organ transplant operations in one year.
From saving lives to relieving distress, the Ministry of Interior has enabled through the "Faraj" service on a platform for benefactors to assist those sentenced in non-criminal financial cases by paying off their debts to facilitate their release. The service has become available through the Absher and Ehsan platforms, showcasing eligible cases, payment details, outstanding amounts, and invoice verification mechanisms, turning the benefactor's contribution into a direct path to relieve the distress of the debtor and reunite them with their family.
In housing, the Jood Housing platform reveals another image of community giving; the platform recorded approximately 5.3 million donation operations, while the number of completed cases reached about 54,200, in a system that gathers contributions from individuals, the private sector, and non-profit organizations to provide housing for deserving families.
The strength of community participation is more evident in seasonal campaigns; the Jood Housing platform announced that the "Jood Regions 2" campaign during Ramadan 2025 recorded 1.843 billion riyals in donations and agreements, contributing to serving more than 11,479 families through cash donations, financing solutions, building housing units, and in-kind donations.
The impact continued in Ramadan 1447 AH; the Jood Housing platform announced in March 2026 that the "Generosity is from Us and Within Us" campaign exceeded its target of 1.2 billion riyals, successfully providing more than 8,000 homes for deserving families across various regions of the Kingdom.
These figures paint a broader concept of Saudi generosity: money reaching those in need, blood reaching the sick, an organ granting new life, a debt paid for a debtor, and a home providing stability for a family.
On Saudi National Day, the slogan "Our Pride is in Our Generosity" finds its embodiment within the community itself; millions of contributions flowing from Saudi to Saudi, turning giving into a social safety net with the human being at its core.
