“Okaz” learned that the management of Al-Wahda Club has not received any inquiries from the Disciplinary Committee regarding Al-Tai's protest, following the match between the two teams in the seventh round of the Professional First Division, which ended with Al-Wahda winning six goals to one.
Al-Tai Club had submitted an official protest against Al-Wahda after the match that took place last Monday, which ended with Al-Wahda's victory by a score of 1/6 in the seventh round of the First Division clubs. Al-Tai's protest was based on the irregularity of Al-Wahda's team roster for the sports season, not for the match between the two teams, which according to the protest includes 20 players over the open age limit, while the regulations only allow for 18 players to be registered over the age limit, including foreign players, along with 7 players born in 2004, making the total 25 players.
On the field, Al-Wahda will miss the services of their Brazilian player Morato, the right-back, in the upcoming match against Al-Anwar next Wednesday, in the eighth round, after medical examinations revealed that he needs a week of rest, during which he will undergo physiotherapy, due to the injury he sustained against Al-Tai.
As part of motivating the players to continue their victories, the club management has distributed the victory bonus for the match against Al-Tai, and has allocated a similar bonus in case they overcome Al-Anwar, in the match that will be held at Al-Anwar Stadium in Hota Bani Tamim, in an effort to enhance the team's chances of competing for the top three positions.
