أشاد مدرب فريق شباب الأهلي الإماراتي باولو سوزا بأداء لاعبيه عقب الفوز على الاتحاد السعودي بهدف نظيف، في المباراة التي جمعتهما على ملعب الإنماء بجدة ضمن الجولة الثانية من دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة.
وأوضح سوزا في المؤتمر الصحفي بعد اللقاء أن فريقه تمكن من فرض سيطرته بشكل مطلق في الشوط الأول، مبينًا أن التراجع اللياقي في الشوط الثاني أتاح المجال للاتحاد للتقدم والضغط، مؤكدًا أن شباب الأهلي كانت لديه فرص عديدة لمضاعفة النتيجة إلا أنها لم تُترجم إلى أهداف.
وأضاف سوزا أن روح الفريق التي جرى بناؤها منذ الموسم الماضي ظهرت بوضوح في المباراة، مشيرًا إلى أن الأهم كان فهم اللاعبين للإستراتيجية الفنية داخل الملعب، واصفًا المواجهة بأنها «يوم استثنائي وغير طبيعي» كونها جمعت بين بطلي الدوري في السعودية والإمارات.
