Our national futsal team has qualified for the final of the 2025 International Friendly Futsal Championship after defeating the Chinese Taipei team with a score of 5-0 in the match held today (Saturday) at the Nontaburi Hall in the Thai capital, Bangkok, as part of the semi-final round.
Goals for the "Green Futsal" were scored by: Nawaf Al-Arowan (two goals), Ihab Ahmed, Abdullah Al-Maghrabi, and Fahd Al-Jahani.
The Spanish head coach, Andreu Plaza, implemented several technical and tactical plans during the match and made substitutions in groups to give all players a chance to participate and to diversify the style of play.
The "Green Futsal" team began its journey in the tournament by defeating the Australian team with a score of 3-1, then overcame the Zambian team 5-4, before concluding the group stage with a victory over the Belarusian team 4-2, achieving a perfect score and topping its second group, leading to a semi-final match against the Chinese Taipei team, which it surpassed with a clean five-goal victory.
The "Green Futsal" team will meet the Thailand team in the final match tomorrow (Sunday), concluding the tournament held in the Kingdom of Thailand.
This participation is part of the team's preparation program for the 2026 AFC Futsal Cup qualifiers, which will take place in Dammam from September 20 to 24.
The draw for the qualifiers, which was held on June 6, placed the national team in Group D alongside the teams from Iraq, Pakistan, and Chinese Taipei.
