هنأ الأمير الوليد بن طلال، ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود، بمناسبة فوز الهلال على مانشستر سيتي «بطل أندية العالم» بنتيجة 4-3 في اللقاء الذي جمعهما على ملعب «كامبينغ وورلد ستاديوم» في مدينة أورلاندو بولاية فلوريدا الأمريكية، ضمن منافسات دور الـ16 من بطولة كأس العالم للأندية 2025. وكتب الأمير الوليد بن طلال عبر صفحته على منصة «إكس»: «هذا الفوز إهداء لأخي ولي العهد». وكان الهلال قد فجر مفاجأة من العيار الثقيل في مباراة مثيرة، فاز فيها على مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي في ثمن نهائي كأس العالم للأندية بأربعة أهداف لثلاثة، ليتأهل إلى ربع نهائي البطولة لمواجهة فريق فلومينينسي البرازيلي.
وكان الهلال قد اصطدم في دور المجموعات، بريال مدريد الإسباني، أحد أكثر الأندية تتويجًا في العالم، ونجح في انتزاع تعادل ثمين بنتيجة 1-1، وفرض أيضًا التعادل السلبي 0-0 على فريق ريد بول سالزبورغ النمساوي، في مواجهة اتسمت بالندية والانضباط التكتيكي، وانتصر على باتشوكا المكسيكي، قبل أن يتغلب في المواجهة المثيرة على مانشستر سيتي برباعية حملت معاني الإصرار والطموح.
