"Abha" sank for avoidable reasons
Former "Abha" player Nasser Al-Qahtani said: Unfortunately, Abha sank in the "Yellow" league for reasons that could have been avoided, including the need to bring in foreign players with exceptional technical skills to benefit the team. If there had only been five foreigners, not even seven or eight, the team would have remained and achieved positive results. However, they contracted with modestly skilled players, some of whom are past their prime, like the goalkeeper and others. Meanwhile, the management distanced itself from former players due to a lack of care and attention to what they contributed to the club. They could have benefited from their experience, whether as administrators, coaches, or even technical advisors like Mahdi Al-Raqadi, Abdul Latif Sha'athan, Mohammed Abu Arad, Ahmed Mahrez, and others. I only see one or two players present, which is very sad. Unfortunately, any management that comes in closes the doors on itself and adds close friends who are far from football, which will inevitably lead to unsatisfactory results. He added: After the team's relegation to the "Yellow" league, the same mistakes keep repeating with foreign players of modest technical levels, while several local players also have unsatisfactory technical levels.
He said: I assure you that I have no disagreement with the club's management, but my love for the "Abha" entity made me candid. We will see the team returning to the "Roshen" league, God willing, but on the condition that the mistakes are corrected and avoided in the coming seasons.
The club management did not work to bring the team back
Former "Abha" player and national coach Mohammed Abu Arad said: The club's management did not work as required for a team that desires to return to the top league. There were no contracts at the expected level, and the team's camp before the league did not promise positives for the team due to the lack of a sufficient number of players, as well as the absence of the club's management with the team continuously. Therefore, the start and results were very modest. He added: I believe that if the team had been supported with high-level players during the winter period, the results could have improved. However, the management did not present anything new, so "Abha" remained in mid-table and could not provide what justifies its return to the top league. The opportunity for qualification still exists, but it seems to me that the overall situation does not help the team return due to the lack of distinguished players. Even if promotion is not achieved - which is expected - the team must be prepared for the next season in a better condition than before.
The team is sinking in "Yellow"... Is there a savior?
The technical director of the regional center in Asir, affiliated with the Saudi Football Federation, Ahmed Mahrez, said: I closed my eyes like hundreds of fans of the Abha entity to wake up to the ruins of memories filled with pain, drowning in sorrow and tears, and the relegation of this historic entity from the top league to the "Yellow" league. No matter how much we try to abandon the past with its memories, the memories, both sweet and bitter, bring back our longing for this great entity. He added: "Abha" has been relegated and abandoned by its fans. Unfortunately, with "Abha's" current situation regarding technical and administrative staff and players, it will sink in the "Yellow" league for a long time and will not return except with a new management, distinguished players, and technical staff that keep pace with the events and the significant development that our Saudi sports are experiencing. Is there a savior who will return "Abha" to its natural place? Is there a savior who will bring "Abha" back to its people? Is there a savior who will revive the stands of "Abha" after everyone abandoned them following the bitter relegation?
"Abha" is suffering
Sports journalist Hassan Al-Qubaisi confirmed that "Abha" is suffering in the "Yellow" league for several reasons, primarily the lack of a coaching staff capable of lifting the team technically and psychologically after their relegation from the professional league. The current coach no longer has anything to offer the team after spending many seasons with them, and there are also no local or professional players with high technical levels who can control the game's pace and tip the balance in the team's favor. He added: The team's management bears a lot of the current situation, and perhaps it would be more appropriate to leave the field to others to lead the team with new ideas and different elements, as it seems that the management also no longer has anything to offer after spending many years in their position, and the team's results are declining. Perhaps one of the most significant issues is what happened to the team with its relegation to the "Yellow" league and the lack of a quick return to the professional league.
