وكان برشلونة، بقيادة مدربه الألماني هانز فليك، قد تلقى خسارته الأولى في المسابقة هذا الموسم أمام باريس سان جيرمان الفرنسي بنتيجة 4-2، في الجولة الماضية.
سجل ثلاثية الفريق الكتالوني كل من لامين يامال ورافينيا (هدفين)، في الدقائق 7 و52 و64، ليصعد «البلوغرانا» إلى وصافة الترتيب مؤقتاً برصيد 9 نقاط، متأخراً بفارق 3 نقاط عن باريس سان جيرمان المتصدر.
في المقابل، تراجع أستون فيلا إلى المركز الثالث برصيد 9 نقاط، بعدما تلقى خسارته الأولى في المسابقة، عقب انطلاقة مثالية حقق خلالها ثلاثة انتصارات متتالية.

وفي مباراة أخرى ضمن منافسات الجولة ذاتها من دوري أبطال أوروبا، حقق بايرن ميونخ الألماني الفوز على مضيفه أتلتيكو مدريد الإسباني بهدفين دون رد، في اللقاء الذي أقيم على ملعب «طيران الرياض ميتروبوليتانو».
أحرز لينارت كارل وكونراد لايمر هدفي بايرن ميونخ في الدقيقتين 54 و74، ليعود الفريق الألماني إلى طريق الانتصارات، بعد تعادلين متتاليين.
بهذا الفوز، رفع بايرن ميونخ رصيده إلى 8 نقاط، ليحتل المركز الثامن، بينما تجمد رصيد أتلتيكو مدريد عند 4 نقاط في المركز الثاني والعشرين.
