ويسعى الأهلاويون إلى رفع الجودة في خط وسط الفريق، خصوصاً في خط الوسط المتأخر، مع تواجد لاعب وحيد فقط في هذا المركز وهو الفرنسي أتانجانا، وفي الجانب الآخر يأمل الأهلاويون في استغلال تعاقد القادسية مع لاعب خط وسط مانشستر سيتي تيجاني رايندرز، وهي الصفقة التي قللت من حظوظ تواجد ناهيتان نانديز ضمن القائمة الأساسية للفريق الشرقاوي، ما يعني إمكانية ضمه لصفوف الأهلي.
