أكد لـ«عكاظ» المشرف العام على الفئات السنية السابق بنادي الاتحاد محمد طلعت اللامي أن الفريق الاتحادي، رغم النتائج الجيدة التي حققها على الصعيدين المحلي والقاري في الموسم الحالي، يحتاج إلى تدعيم صفوفه بلاعبين أجانب قبل نهاية فترة الانتقالات الصيفية في السادس من سبتمبر القادم، من أجل المنافسة على البطولات محلياً وقارياً.
وأوضح اللامي أن المباريات التي خاضها الفريق الاتحادي محلياً في دوري روشن السعودي للمحترفين أمام فرق الخلود والقادسية والحزم، وضد فريق النجمة في الدور الـ32 في مسابقة كأس الملك، وقارياً أمام فريق الجزيرة الإماراتي في الملحق الآسيوي، أثبتت حاجة الفريق الفنية في خطي الوسط والهجوم، من أجل قدرة العميد على المنافسة في دوري روشن وكأس الملك ودوري أبطال آسيا لأندية النخبة.
وأشاد اللامي بالعمل الفني الذي يقوم به المدرب الألماني ينز فيسينغ مع الفريق الاتحادي، وأنه يسير بشكل جيد في المنافسة على البطولات المحلية والقارية، ولكن يحتاج لتعزيز صفوف العميد بلاعبين أجانب يشكلون إضافة فنية من أجل حصد البطولات في الموسم الحالي.
واختتم حديثه بقوله: «إن جماهير الاتحاد طموحاتها كبيرة، ولا ترضى بغير فريق قوي ينافس على تحقيق البطولات في الموسم الحالي».
Mohammad Talat Al-Lami, the former general supervisor of youth categories at Al-Ittihad Club, confirmed to "Okaz" that the Ittihad team, despite the good results it has achieved both locally and continentally this season, needs to strengthen its squad with foreign players before the end of the summer transfer window on September 6, in order to compete for titles both locally and continentally.
Al-Lami explained that the matches the Ittihad team has played locally in the Roshn Saudi Pro League against Al-Khulood, Al-Qadisiyah, and Al-Hazm, as well as against Al-Najma in the Round of 32 of the King’s Cup, and continentally against Al-Jazeera from the UAE in the Asian playoff, have proven the team’s technical need in the midfield and attack lines, in order for the club to compete in the Roshn League, the King’s Cup, and the AFC Champions League for elite clubs.
Al-Lami praised the technical work being done by the German coach Jens Wiesinger with the Ittihad team, stating that he is progressing well in competing for local and continental titles, but there is a need to reinforce the squad with foreign players who can provide a technical addition to achieve titles this season.
He concluded his remarks by saying: "The ambitions of Ittihad fans are high, and they are not satisfied with anything less than a strong team that competes for titles this season."
