أعلن الاتحاد السنغالي لكرة القدم، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، تعيين أسطورة كرة القدم الفرنسية باتريك فييرا مدرباً للمنتخب الأول، خلفاً لباب ثياو الذي رحل عقب الوداع المبكر من كأس العالم 2026.

وقال الاتحاد السنغالي في بيان رسمي إنه قرر بالإجماع تعيين باتريك فييرا مدرباً لمنتخب «أسود التيرانغا»، مشيراً إلى أنه سيتم الإعلان لاحقاً عن موعد التقديم الرسمي والخطوات التالية لتولي منصبه.
وأضاف البيان: «يمثل هذا الاختيار الإستراتيجي مرحلة جديدة في مساعي الاتحاد السنغالي لكرة القدم لإرساء جهاز فني رفيع المستوى، بما يتماشى تماماً مع الطموحات الرياضية للبلاد».

ودرب فييرا، المولود في العاصمة السنغالية داكار، فريق كريستال بالاس في الدوري الإنجليزي، وفريقي نيس وستراسبورغ الفرنسيين، كما قضى فترة قصيرة في تدريب نادي جنوى في دوري الدرجة الأولى الإيطالي.
موعد الظهور الأول
وستكون أولى مبارياته كمدرب للسنغال خلال فترة التوقف الدولي الشهر القادم، حيث يواصل بطل كأس الأمم الأفريقية 2021 استعداداته لبطولة عام 2027.

The Senegalese Federation stated in an official announcement that it unanimously decided to appoint Patrick Vieira as the coach of the "Lions of Teranga," noting that the date for the official presentation and the next steps for him to assume his position will be announced later.
The statement added: "This strategic choice represents a new phase in the Senegalese Football Federation's efforts to establish a high-level technical staff, fully aligned with the country's sporting ambitions."

Vieira's Career
Born in the Senegalese capital Dakar, Vieira has coached Crystal Palace in the English Premier League, as well as the French teams Nice and Strasbourg, and he had a brief stint coaching Genoa in Italy's Serie A.
First Appearance Date
His first match as coach of Senegal will be during the international break next month, as the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations champions continue their preparations for the 2027 tournament.
