وكان كانسيلو قد انضم إلى برشلونة خلال فترة الانتقالات الشتوية الماضية لمدة 6 أشهر على سبيل الإعارة، بعد خروجه من حسابات مدرب الهلال سيموني إنزاغي، وشارك الظهير البرتغالي في 23 مباراة تحت قيادة المدرب هانز فليك بمختلف المسابقات، سجل خلالها هدفين، وقدم 4 تمريرات حاسمة.

ونشر كانسيلو صورة له مرتدياً قميص برشلونة، مرفقاً بها رمز الساعة الرملية، في إشارة إلى اقتراب عودته إلى «البلوغرانا».

من جانبه، كتب الصحفي الإيطالي الشهير فابريزو رومانو عبر حسابه على منصة «إكس»: «يثق نادي برشلونة في الحصول على الضوء الأخضر لعودة جواو كانسيلو والمضي قدماً في إتمام عودته الأسبوع القادم».
وأضاف: «يناقش كانسيلو حالياً مسألة إنهاء عقده مع نادي الهلال، في حين يتوقع برشلونة وصوله خلال أيام قليلة».
ووفقاً لما نقلته صحيفة «موندو ديبورتيفو» الإٍسبانية، فإن كانسيلو سينضم إلى برشلونة في صفقة انتقال حر، لكن في المقابل، سيتعاقد الهلال مع مارك كاسادو مقابل رسوم أقل من 40 مليون يورو التي كان النادي الكتالوني يأمل في الحصول عليها.

For his part, renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote on his account on the platform "X": "FC Barcelona is confident of getting the green light for João Cancelo's return and moving forward to complete his return next week."
He added: "Cancelo is currently discussing the termination of his contract with Al-Hilal, while Barcelona expects him to arrive in a few days."
According to what was reported by the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Cancelo will join Barcelona on a free transfer, but in return, Al-Hilal will sign Marc Casado for a fee of less than 40 million euros that the Catalan club was hoping to receive.
