أدلى مدرب منتخب البرازيل كارلو أنشيلوتي بتصريحات عقب خروج فريقه من دور الـ16 في بطولة كأس العالم، بعد الخسارة أمام منتخب النرويج بنتيجة 2-1، أكد فيها أن المنتخب البرازيلي كان يستحق الفوز رغم نتيجة اللقاء، معتبراً أن هذه الهزيمة تمثل «بداية مرحلة جديدة» وليست نهاية المطاف.
وقال أنشيلوتي خلال المؤتمر الصحفي: «علينا مواصلة العمل والتحسن والبحث عن حلول وأفكار جديدة، فهذه ليست النهاية بل بداية مشروع مختلف».
وتطرق المدرب الإيطالي إلى الجدل حول اختيار جواو جيماريش لتسديد ركلة جزاء في الدقيقة 14 من المباراة بدلاً من نجم ريال مدريد فينيسيوس جونيور، موضحاً أن القرار جاء بناءً على بيانات وإحصاءات تمت مراجعتها على مدار عام كامل.
وأضاف: «أفضل مسددين لركلات الجزاء لدينا وفق الترتيب هم نيمار، ثم إيجور تياجو، يليه رافينيا، ثم جيماريش، وأخيراً جابرييل مارتينيلي».
وأوضح أن اختيار جيماريش جاء بسبب غياب نيمار وإيجور تياجو ورافينيا عن أرض الملعب وقت احتساب الركلة، ما دفع الجهاز الفني للاعتماد على اللاعب المتواجد باعتباره الخيار الأنسب وفق المعطيات الفنية.
وختم أنشيلوتي تصريحاته بالتأكيد على استمرار العمل لتطوير الأداء وتصحيح الأخطاء في المرحلة القادمة.

He added: "Our best penalty takers, according to the ranking, are Neymar, then Igor Thiago, followed by Raphinha, then Gomes, and finally Gabriel Martinelli."
He clarified that Gomes was chosen due to the absence of Neymar, Igor Thiago, and Raphinha from the field at the time the penalty was awarded, which led the coaching staff to rely on the player present as the most suitable option based on the technical data.
Ancelotti concluded his statements by emphasizing the ongoing work to develop performance and correct mistakes in the upcoming phase.
