أكدت مصادر خاصة لـ«عكاظ» أن انقساماً في اتحاد القدم حول المدرب الفرنسي هيرفي رينارد، من شأنه إحداث تغيير كبير في الجهاز الفني للمنتخب السعودي الأول، إذ من المتوقع أن يتم الاستغناء عن رينارد والتوقيع مع المدرب اليوناني جورجوس دونيس، الذي يحظى بقبول كبير وإجماع من اتحاد القدم.
وفي الإطار نفسه، أكدت مصادر مقربة من فريق الخليج أن إدارة النادي برئاسة أحمد خريدة، لم تتلقَ اتصالاً من اتحاد اللعبة بشأن دونيس، وأن النادي يجري مفاوضات مع المدرب لتجديد عقده مع النادي.
ويحتل الخليج المركز الحادي عشر برصيد 31 نقطة في دوري روشن من 28 مباراة.
ومن المتوقع أن تتضح الصورة حول الجهاز الفني في غضون الأيام القليلة القادمة.
يذكر أن رينارد قاد المنتخب السعودي بين 2019 و2023، وعاد إليه العام قبل الماضي، وقاده للمرة الثانية للوصول إلى كأس العالم عبر الملحق الآسيوي.
