«انظروا أين نحن اليوم».. بهذه العبارة بدأ مدرب المنتخب اليابان هاجيمي مورياسو، تصريحه عقب فوز منتخب بلاده على المنتخب الإنجليزي بهدف دون رد، في اللقاء الودي الذي جمعهما أمس بملعب ويمبلي، وسجل هدف المباراة اليتيم كاورو ميتوما في الدقيقة 23، ليمنح الفريق الآسيوي فوزاً معنوياً مهماً قبل المونديال، وليعزز «الساموراي» سجلهم القوي بعدم الخسارة أمام منتخبات أوروبية أخيراً.
وقال مورياسو:«قبل 36 عاماً، سافرت إلى إنجلترا في فترة تدريب مع مانشستر يونايتد، وكان الجميع يتساءل بتعجب: هل يستطيع اليابانيون لعب كرة القدم أساساً؟.. واليوم أرد وكلي فخر: نعم نستطيع اللعب والفوز أيضاً». وأضاف: «عندما يضع اليابانيون هدفاً، يصلون إليه حتماً.. وأنا أؤمن تماماً بالإستراتيجية التي وضعها الاتحاد الياباني لتطوير كرة القدم».
