منعت لجنة الحكام في الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) الحكام المرشحين لإدارة مباريات مونديال 2026 من إدارة أي مباريات ودية لمنتخبات كأس العالم خلال فترة التوقف الدولي لشهر مارس الجاري، إذ تلقى الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم خطاباً من الاتحاد الدولي للعبة «فيفا» بشأن هذا الحظر المفروض على الحكام.
وقال الاتحاد المصري عبر مركزه الإعلامي إن هذا القرار يأتي في إطار الاستعدادات لانطلاق البطولة، المقررة إقامتها خلال الفترة من 11 يونيو إلى 19 يوليو المقبلين، في كل من كندا والمكسيك والولايات المتحدة، وذلك حرصاً على تحقيق مبدأ النزاهة والشفافية، قبل الإعلان النهائي عن حكام البطولة.
وأوضح: «أبلغت لجنة الحكام الرئيسية بالاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم، برئاسة أوسكار رويز، الحكمين المصريين أمين عمر (حكم الساحة)، ومحمود عاشور (حكم تقنية الفيديو) بالقرار الذي بدأ تنفيذه بالفعل».
وأضاف: «يعد أمين عمر ومحمود عاشور ضمن قائمة الحكام المرشحين للمشاركة في إدارة مباريات المونديال، في تأكيد جديد على حضور التحكيم المصري على الساحة الدولية. ويحظى الثنائي بدعم كامل من الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم، برئاسة هاني أبوريدة، ولجنة الحكام الرئيسية، برئاسة أوسكار رويز، في إطار مساندة الحكام المصريين المرشحين لتمثيل التحكيم المصري في الحدث الكروي الأكبر عالمياً».
The Referees Committee of the International Football Federation (FIFA) has prohibited the referees nominated to officiate the 2026 World Cup matches from managing any friendly matches for World Cup teams during the international break in March. The Egyptian Football Association received a letter from FIFA regarding this ban imposed on the referees.
The Egyptian Association stated through its media center that this decision comes as part of the preparations for the tournament, scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, in order to uphold the principles of integrity and transparency before the final announcement of the tournament referees.
It explained: "The main referees committee of the Egyptian Football Association, headed by Oscar Ruiz, has informed the two Egyptian referees, Amin Omar (the field referee) and Mahmoud Ashour (the Video Assistant Referee), of the decision that has already been implemented."
It added: "Amin Omar and Mahmoud Ashour are among the list of referees nominated to participate in officiating the World Cup matches, confirming the presence of Egyptian refereeing on the international stage. The duo enjoys full support from the Egyptian Football Association, headed by Hani Abou Rida, and the main referees committee, chaired by Oscar Ruiz, as part of the support for Egyptian referees nominated to represent Egyptian officiating in the world's biggest football event."
