في حادثة مأساوية هزت عالم كرة القدم الهواة في إيطاليا، توفي اللاعب الإيطالي إنريكو بيجي، البالغ من العمر 25 عاماً، إثر سقوطه من جسر في مدينة شاموني الفرنسية الشهيرة بمنتجعات التزلج، خلال إجازة عيد الميلاد.

وبحسب موقع (Dailystar) وقعت الحادثة في الساعات الأولى من صباح يوم 1 يناير 2026، نحو الساعة 4:30 فجراً، حيث سقط بيجي من ارتفاع يُقدر بنحو 6 أمتار من جسر يقع على طريق ماري باراديس المطل على نهر آرڤ.
ورغم تدخل فرق الإطفاء والإسعاف السريع، الذين حاولوا إنعاشه، إلا أن إصاباته البالغة أدت إلى وفاته بعد دقائق قليلة.
ملابسات السقوط
وأفادت السلطات الفرنسية بأن بيجي كان وحيداً في تلك اللحظة، وفتحت تحقيقاً لكشف ملابسات السقوط، الذي يُوصف بـ«الغامض»، وتشير بعض التقارير الإعلامية المحلية إلى إمكانية تأثير الكحول، لكن ذلك لم يُؤكد رسمياً بعد.

من هو إنريكو بيجي؟
وكان إنريكو بيجي، المولود في منطقة بولونيا عام 2000، مدافعاً قوي البنية وشخصية محبوبة في غرفة الملابس، ولعب لثلاث سنوات في نادي مونتومبرارو (في قرية زوكا بجبال مودينا الأبينينية)، الذي ينافس في دوري الترقي، الدرجة السادسة في إيطاليا.
كما ساهم بشكل حاسم في صعود الفريق إلى هذه الدرجة بعد فوزه ببطولة الدرجة الأولى عام 2024/2023، وحمل شارة القائد في مناسبات عدة، وسبق له اللعب في أندية أخرى هواة مثل فالسيتا لاغارو وكورتيتشيلا، حيث بنى سمعة طيبة كلاعب موثوق.
وأثار خبر الوفاة حزناً عميقاً بين زملائه وإدارة النادي والجماهير، وأعلن نادي مونتومبرارو تأجيل مباراته المقررة اليوم (الثلاثاء) أمام كاستيلنوڤو حداداً على الفقيد، وأصدر بياناً جاء فيه: «نحن قريبون من العائلة ونقدم تعازينا الحارة لأحباء إنريكو، أعجبنا به ليس فقط لموهبته الكروية، بل لشخصيته داخل الملعب وخارجه، يترك فراغاً لا يمكن تعويضه».

According to the (Dailystar) website, the incident occurred in the early hours of January 1, 2026, around 4:30 AM, when Peggi fell from an estimated height of about 6 meters from a bridge located on the Marie Paradis road overlooking the Arve River.
Despite the intervention of fire and emergency medical teams, who attempted to revive him, his severe injuries led to his death just a few minutes later.
Circumstances of the Fall
French authorities reported that Peggi was alone at that moment and opened an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the fall, which is described as "mysterious." Some local media reports suggest the possibility of alcohol involvement, but this has not been officially confirmed yet.

Who is Enrico Peggi?
Enrico Peggi, born in the Bologna area in 2000, was a strong defender and a beloved personality in the locker room. He played for three years at Montombraro Club (in the village of Zocca in the Modena Apennines), which competes in the promotion league, the sixth tier in Italy.
He played a crucial role in the team's rise to this level after winning the first division championship in the 2024/2023 season and wore the captain's armband on several occasions. He had previously played for other amateur clubs such as Valsit Lagaro and Corticella, where he built a good reputation as a reliable player.
The news of his death has caused deep sorrow among his teammates, the club management, and fans. Montombraro Club announced the postponement of its scheduled match today (Tuesday) against Castelnovo in mourning for the deceased, and issued a statement saying: "We are close to the family and extend our heartfelt condolences to Enrico's loved ones. We admired him not only for his football talent but also for his character both on and off the field; he leaves an irreplaceable void."
