حقق منتخبنا الوطني السعودي للناشئين انطلاقة قوية في بطولة كأس الخليج تحت 17 سنة، بعدما تغلب على نظيره البحريني بأربعة أهداف دون مقابل، في المباراة التي جرت على استاد سحيم بن حمد بنادي قطر ضمن منافسات المجموعة الثانية.
دخل «الأخضر» اللقاء بقوة وفرض أفضليته منذ البداية، وسجل اللاعب وليد النور هدفين سريعين في الدقيقتين 5 و7، قبل أن يضيف زميله صبري دهل الهدف الثالث عند الدقيقة 44، وفي الشوط الثاني، واصل النور تألقه بإحراز الهدف الرابع (الشخصي الثالث له «هاتريك») في الدقيقة 56، ليضع اسمه مبكراً ضمن أبرز نجوم البطولة.
بهذا الفوز العريض، وجّه المنتخب السعودي رسالة قوية لبقية المنافسين، مؤكداً مكانته كأحد أبرز المرشحين للتتويج باللقب في النسخة الأولى من البطولة التي تستضيفها العاصمة القطرية الدوحة.
وفي لقاء الافتتاح تعادل منتخب العراق مع نظيره منتخب الكويت بهدف لكل منهما ضمن منافسات المجموعة نفسها (الثانية)، وتقدم المنتخب العراقي في الدقيقة التاسعة عبر لاعبه الأمير حيدر، قبل أن يخطف المنتخب الكويتي هدف التعادل في الدقيقة السادسة من الوقت بدل الضائع، ليخرج الفريقان بنقطة لكل منهما في مستهل مشوارهما بالبطولة، ليتصدر منتخبنا الوطني المجموعة برصيد 3 نقاط ويليه منتخبا العراق والكويت بنقطة لكل منهما، ويتذيل المجموعة البحرين دون نقاط، وسيلاقي منتخبنا السعودي نظيره الكويتي يوم الثلاثاء القادم، فيما يلتقي العراق مع البحرين في اليوم ذاته.

Our Saudi national youth team made a strong start in the Gulf Cup U-17 Championship, defeating their Bahraini counterparts by four goals to none in the match held at the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar Sports Club as part of Group B.
The "Green" entered the match with strength and imposed their superiority from the beginning, with player Walid Al-Noor scoring two quick goals in the 5th and 7th minutes, before his teammate Sabri Dahl added the third goal in the 44th minute. In the second half, Al-Noor continued to shine by scoring the fourth goal (his personal third "hat-trick") in the 56th minute, placing his name early among the tournament's standout stars.
With this wide victory, the Saudi team sent a strong message to the other competitors, confirming its position as one of the top contenders for the title in the first edition of the tournament hosted by the Qatari capital, Doha.
In the opening match, Iraq's team drew with Kuwait's team, each scoring one goal in the same group (Group B). The Iraqi team took the lead in the 9th minute through their player Amir Haidar, before the Kuwaiti team snatched the equalizer in the sixth minute of stoppage time, resulting in both teams earning one point each at the start of their tournament journey. Our national team leads the group with 3 points, followed by Iraq and Kuwait with one point each, while Bahrain sits at the bottom of the group with no points. Our Saudi team will face the Kuwaiti team next Tuesday, while Iraq will meet Bahrain on the same day.
