مصادر «عكاظ»: الاتحاد يدرس تمديد عقد كانتي

The "Okaz" newspaper learned from its sources that the management of Al-Ittihad Club is considering extending the contract of French star N'Golo Kanté before the end of 2025, as the player's contract with the club will expire in June 2026. The Al-Ittihad management aims to prevent other clubs from acquiring the player's services if he enters the "free" six-month period in January 2026.

Sources indicated that Kanté does not mind extending his current contract with Al-Ittihad, confirming on several occasions his satisfaction with life in Saudi Arabia and his professional experience with the club.

The sources revealed that the sports management aims to support the stability of the first team and maintain its technical gains, placing the file of extending Kanté's contract among the important matters they are working to resolve in the upcoming period.

Kanté will join the Al-Ittihad team’s training in preparation for the upcoming match against Al-Fateh on Friday at 9:00 PM, at the Al-Elm Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, as part of the second round of the Roshan Saudi Professional League, following the end of his short vacation due to personal circumstances, in coordination with the technical and administrative staff.

It is worth mentioning that N'Golo joined Al-Ittihad Club on June 20, 2023, coming from Chelsea, with a contract lasting three years, ending on June 20, 2026, and he contributed to the club's achievements of winning the Roshan Saudi Professional League and the King’s Cup last season.
