عقدت اللجنة المنظمة لبطولة الماسترز للسنوكر، مساء اليوم (الإثنين)، المؤتمر الصحفي الموسع للبطولة، في صالة مدينة الأمير عبدالله الفيصل الرياضية بجدة، بحضور رئيس الاتحاد السعودي للبلياردو والسنوكر نايف الجعويني، ورئيس الجولة العالمية للسنوكر ستيف داوسون، إضافة إلى الحكمة السعودية نجلاء النعيمي، وسط حضور إعلامي محلي ودولي واسع، ونخبة من أبرز نجوم اللعبة عالميا.
وفي بداية المؤتمر، أكد رئيس الاتحاد السعودي للبلياردو والسنوكر نايف الجعويني أن البطولة تعكس التطور الكبير الذي تشهده اللعبة في المملكة، مشيرا إلى أنها تمثل فرصة مهمة لعشاق ومحبي السنوكر، مرحّبا في الوقت ذاته بالموجودين كافة في الحدث من مختلف دول العالم.
وتابع حديثه: «ما زلنا في بداية الطريق، وخلال السنوات القادمة سنحقق العديد من المكتسبات لتطوير مستوى اللاعبين والحكام، ويسعدنا استقبال نخبة لاعبي العالم في هذه البطولة المرموقة».
من جانبه، أشاد رئيس الجولة العالمية للسنوكر ستيف داوسون بالتنظيم المميز الذي تقدمه المملكة، معبّرا عن شكره لوزارة الرياضة والاتحاد السعودي للبلياردو والسنوكر، وقال: «التنظيم الاحترافي في السعودية يوازي أكبر البطولات العالمية، وامتداد الاستضافة لعشر سنوات سيسهم في تطوير اللعبة، وبناء قاعدة من المواهب واللاعبين والحكام القادرين على المنافسة في التصنيف العالمي».
إلى ذلك، أعربت الحكمة السعودية نجلاء النعيمي عن اعتزازها بالمشاركة، وقالت: «فخورة بتمثيل السعودية في مجال التحكيم، وأتمنى رؤية المزيد من السيدات السعوديات في هذا المجال من هذه الرياضة المتميزة.. البطولة تمنحني خبرة كبيرة من خلال الاحتكاك بأفضل حكام العالم».
وبعد نهاية المؤتمر الصحفي، فُتح المجال لوسائل الإعلام المحلية والدولية لأخذ آراء اللاعبين عن البطولة وطموحاتهم فيها، وضمت قائمة النجوم المشاركين في منطقة اللقاءات الإعلامية كلا من الإنجليزي جود ترمب حامل لقب البطولة، ومواطنه روني أوسوليفان صاحب الرقم القياسي في عدد ألقاب بطولة العالم الحديثة برصيد سبعة ألقاب، وكذلك الأسكتلندي جون هيغنز الذي سبق أن تُوّج ببطولة العالم أربع مرات، إضافة إلى الويلزي مارك ويليامز بطل العالم ثلاث مرات، إلى جانب عدد من النجوم العالميين.
وأعرب روني أوسوليفان الذي يعد أحد أساطير اللعبة، عن سعادته بالمشاركة، قائلا: «أحب التواجد في بطولة الماسترز للسنوكر والاستمتاع بأجوائها المميزة.. التنظيم في المملكة وتحديدا في جدة يعكس حجم الحدث واحترافيته، والسعودية قدّمت نموذجا رائعا في استضافة البطولات العالمية، فمنذ لحظة وصولك تشعر بعظمة البطولة وروعة التجربة».
من جانبه، أكد حامل اللقب جود ترمب أن البطولة حققت نجاحا منذ انطلاقتها، قائلا: «منذ النسخة الأولى، كان الحضور والاهتمام واضحين، وتركا لنا الكثير من الذكريات الجميلة، وسيكون رائعا أن نلعب مستقبلا أمام أحد اللاعبين السعوديين، وربما نرى أحدهم بطلا للعالم».
أما كايرون ويلسون، فقال في حديثه: «هذه زيارتي الأولى لجدة، النسخة الأولى من البطولة في الرياض كانت رائعة أيضا، وفي واحد من أفضل المرافق التي لعبت فيها، والتنظيم هذا العام يبدو رائعا أيضا. الشعب ودود للغاية، وسأعود لبلدي لأتحدث عن هذه التجربة الرائعة».
الجدير ذكره أن منافسات دور الـ32 من البطولة ستنطلق غدا (الثلاثاء)، إذ يلتقي الإنجليزي جود ترمب، حامل اللقب، مع مواطنه أوليفر لاينز، فيما يشهد اليوم نفسه، الظهور الأول لبطل العالم والأكثر تحقيقا للألقاب روني أوسوليفان، وسط ترقب جماهيري كبير لمشاركته.
ومن المنتظر أن تحمل منافسات هذا الدور مواجهات مثيرة تجمع نخبة النجوم، في أجواء يتوقع أن تمتلئ بالحماس والإثارة، مواصلة لترسيخ مكانة البطولة كواحدة من بطولات العالم الأربع الكبرى في عالم السنوكر.

The organizing committee for the Masters Snooker Championship held an extensive press conference for the tournament this evening (Monday) at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City in Jeddah, attended by the President of the Saudi Billiards and Snooker Federation, Naif Al-Jaouini, the President of the World Snooker Tour, Steve Dawson, and Saudi referee Najla Al-Naimi, amidst a wide local and international media presence, along with a selection of the world's top stars in the game.
At the beginning of the conference, Naif Al-Jaouini emphasized that the tournament reflects the significant development the game is witnessing in the Kingdom, pointing out that it represents an important opportunity for snooker enthusiasts and fans, while welcoming everyone present at the event from various countries around the world.
He continued, "We are still at the beginning of the road, and in the coming years, we will achieve many gains to develop the level of players and referees. We are pleased to welcome a selection of the world's players to this prestigious tournament."
For his part, Steve Dawson praised the exceptional organization provided by the Kingdom, expressing his gratitude to the Ministry of Sports and the Saudi Billiards and Snooker Federation, saying, "The professional organization in Saudi Arabia is on par with the largest global tournaments, and the extension of hosting for ten years will contribute to the development of the game and building a base of talents, players, and referees capable of competing in the world rankings."
Additionally, Saudi referee Najla Al-Naimi expressed her pride in participating, stating, "I am proud to represent Saudi Arabia in the field of refereeing, and I hope to see more Saudi women in this distinguished sport... The tournament provides me with great experience through interaction with the best referees in the world."

As for Kyren Wilson, he said in his remarks, "This is my first visit to Jeddah. The first edition of the tournament in Riyadh was also wonderful, and it was in one of the best venues I have played in. The organization this year seems great as well. The people are extremely friendly, and I will return to my country to talk about this wonderful experience."
