أعلن نجم التنس الصربي نوفاك ديوكوفيتش، انسحابه من بطولة سينسيناتي المفتوحة لأسباب «غير طبية»، مما يعني أنه سيشارك في بطولة أمريكا المفتوحة (فلاشينج ميدوز)، آخر بطولات الجراند سلام الأربع الكبرى للموسم الحالي، دون أن يكون قد شارك في أي مباراة منذ شهر ونصف الشهر.
ولم يشارك النجم الفائز بـ24 لقبًا في بطولات الجراند سلام، في أي مباراة منذ خسارته أمام الإيطالي يانيك سينر المصنف الأول على العالم في المربع الذهبي لبطولة ويمبلدون، في 11 يوليو الماضي.
ويأتي انسحاب ديوكوفيتش من سينسيناتي في أعقاب قراره بالغياب عن بطولة تورنتو للأساتذة، التي يسدل عليها الستار هذا الأسبوع، حيث أرجع السبب في انسحابه إلى إصابة في الفخذ.
ولن يخوض ديوكوفيتش أي استعدادات لبطولة فلاشينج ميدوز على الملاعب الصلبة قبل انطلاق منافسات فردي الرجال في 24 أغسطس الجاري.
وتوّج النجم الصربي بأربعة ألقاب في فلاشينج ميدوز، آخرها في عام 2023، وكان هذا أيضًا آخر لقب له في بطولات الجراند سلام.

The Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic announced his withdrawal from the Cincinnati Open for "non-medical" reasons, meaning he will participate in the US Open (Flushing Meadows), the last of the four Grand Slam tournaments of the current season, without having played any matches for a month and a half.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion has not participated in any matches since his loss to Italy's Jannik Sinner, the world number one, in the semifinals of Wimbledon on July 11.
Djokovic's withdrawal from Cincinnati follows his decision to miss the Toronto Masters, which concludes this week, citing a thigh injury as the reason for his withdrawal.
Djokovic will not engage in any preparations for the Flushing Meadows tournament on hard courts before the men's singles competition begins on August 24.
