أعلن الاتحاد النيجيري لكرة القدم تقدمه بشكوى رسمية إلى الاتحاد الدولي للعبة (فيفا) ضد منتخب الكونغو الديمقراطية، متهمًا إياه بالتحايل في أهلية مشاركة عدد من لاعبيه خلال التصفيات المؤهلة لكأس العالم 2026.
وجاءت الشكوى عقب تأهل منتخب الكونغو الديمقراطية إلى الملحق العالمي، بعد فوزه على نيجيريا بركلات الترجيح الشهر الماضي.
اتهامات بمخالفة لوائح الجنسية
وأوضح الاتحاد النيجيري أن الكونغو الديمقراطية سمحت بمشاركة لاعبين مزدوجي الجنسية دون استيفاء الشروط القانونية، مشيرًا إلى تعارض ذلك مع القوانين الداخلية للبلاد التي لا تسمح بازدواج الجنسية.
وقال الأمين العام للاتحاد النيجيري، محمد سانوسي، في تصريحات صحفية: «عدد من لاعبي الكونغو يحملون جوازات سفر أوروبية، بعضها فرنسي وأخرى هولندية، في حين أن قوانين بلادهم لا تعترف بازدواج الجنسية».
مزاعم تضليل «فيفا»
وأضاف سانوسي أن لوائح «فيفا» تعتمد على امتلاك اللاعب لجواز سفر الدولة التي يمثلها، لكنه شدد على أن «الفيفا تم تضليله»، معتبرًا أن الاتحاد الدولي لا يتحقق من مدى التزام الدول بقوانينها الداخلية الخاصة بالجنسية.
وتابع: «اعتمد «فيفا» على المستندات المقدمة إليه، وبناءً عليها تم اعتماد أهلية اللاعبين، لكننا نرى أن ما حدث يدخل في إطار الاحتيال».
رد ساخر من الكونغو
في المقابل، رد اتحاد الكونغو الديمقراطية بلهجة حادة عبر بيان نشره على حساباته الرسمية، جاء فيه: «إذا لم تستطع الفوز على أرض الملعب، فلا تحاول الفوز من الباب الخلفي. كأس العالم تُلعب بكرامة وثقة، لا بحيل المحامين. هاتوا ما عندكم».
ومن المنتظر أن ينظر الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم في الشكوى خلال الفترة القادمة، وسط ترقب لقرار قد يعيد فتح ملف التأهل في واحدة من أكثر القضايا جدلاً في التصفيات الأفريقية.
The Nigerian Football Federation announced that it has filed an official complaint with the International Football Federation (FIFA) against the Democratic Republic of the Congo, accusing it of manipulating the eligibility of several of its players during the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The complaint came after the Democratic Republic of the Congo qualified for the global playoff, following its victory over Nigeria in a penalty shootout last month.
Allegations of Violating Nationality Regulations
The Nigerian Federation clarified that the Democratic Republic of the Congo allowed dual nationality players to participate without meeting the legal requirements, noting that this contradicts the country's internal laws which do not permit dual nationality.
The Secretary-General of the Nigerian Federation, Muhammad Sanusi, stated in press remarks: “Several Congolese players hold European passports, some French and others Dutch, while their country's laws do not recognize dual nationality.”
Allegations of Misleading FIFA
Sanusi added that FIFA's regulations depend on the player possessing a passport from the country they represent, but he emphasized that “FIFA has been misled,” considering that the international federation does not verify the extent to which countries comply with their internal nationality laws.
He continued: “FIFA relied on the documents submitted to it, and based on that, the eligibility of the players was approved, but we see that what happened falls within the framework of fraud.”
Mocking Response from Congo
In contrast, the Congolese Federation responded sharply through a statement published on its official accounts, stating: “If you cannot win on the field, do not try to win through the back door. The World Cup is played with dignity and confidence, not with lawyers' tricks. Bring what you have.”
The International Football Federation is expected to consider the complaint in the coming period, amid anticipation for a decision that could reopen the qualification file in one of the most controversial issues in the African qualifiers.
