حجز منتخب أمريكا بطاقة العبور إلى ربع نهائي كأس العالم تحت 20 عاماً عقب فوزه المستحق على نظيره الإيطالي بثلاثة أهداف دون رد في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على ملعب إل تينينتي بدولة تشيلي ضمن لقاءات دور الـ16 للمونديال.
وتألق القائد بنجامين كريماتشي بتسجيله هدفين (15 و90+3)، فيما أحرز نيكو تساكيريس الهدف الثالث (79)، ليقودا فريقهما إلى الدور القادم للمرة الخامسة على التوالي في تاريخ مشاركات المنتخب الأمريكي بالبطولة.
ورغم البداية القوية لإيطاليا، التي كادت أن تتقدم مبكرا عندما اصطدمت تسديدة ماتيا موسكوني بالقائم في الدقيقة الثامنة، فإن السيطرة تحولت سريعا لصالح المنتخب الأمريكي الذي افتتح التسجيل عبر كريماتشي بعد متابعة ناجحة لركنية نفذها تساكيريس.
وفي الشوط الثاني، واصل الأمريكيون ضغطهم، وتمكن تساكيريس من مضاعفة النتيجة من ركلة حرة رائعة سكنت شباك الحارس ياكوبو سيغيتي، قبل أن يختتم كريماتشي العرض الأمريكي بهدف ثالث جميل من انفراد أنهاه بتسديدة ساقطة فوق الحارس الإيطالي.
وبهذا الفوز، واصل كريماتشي تألقه اللافت في البطولة بعدما رفع رصيده إلى خمسة أهداف، ليتصدر قائمة الهدافين.
وسيخوض منتخب أمريكا لقاء دور ربع النهائي أمام منتخب المغرب يوم الأحد القادم على ملعب إل تينينتي.

The American team secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Under-20 World Cup after a deserved victory over their Italian counterparts with a score of three goals to none in the match held at the El Teniente Stadium in Chile as part of the Round of 16 of the tournament.
The captain, Benjamin Crematchi, shone by scoring two goals (15 and 90+3), while Nico Tsakiris netted the third goal (79), leading their team to the next round for the fifth consecutive time in the history of the American team's participation in the tournament.
Despite Italy's strong start, which nearly saw them take the lead early on when Mattia Mosconi's shot hit the post in the eighth minute, control quickly shifted in favor of the American team, which opened the scoring through Crematchi after a successful follow-up to a corner taken by Tsakiris.
In the second half, the Americans continued to apply pressure, and Tsakiris managed to double the score with a fantastic free kick that found the back of the net, beating goalkeeper Jacopo Sighetti, before Crematchi capped off the American display with a beautiful third goal from a breakaway, finishing with a lob over the Italian goalkeeper.
With this victory, Crematchi continued his remarkable performance in the tournament, raising his tally to five goals, placing him at the top of the scoring list.
The American team will face the Moroccan team in the quarter-finals next Sunday at El Teniente Stadium.
