وشهد اللقاء إثارة وندية في الشوط الثاني وسدد نيك فولتيمنده كرة قوية لكنها ارتدت من الدفاع، وتمكن جيماريش من خطف الكرة من لاعب نوتنغهام جيبس وايت ليمرر الكرة لزميله دان بران الذي أعاها لجيماريش على حدود منطقة الجزاء ليسددها البرازيلي قوية في الزاوية العليا على يسار الحارس ماتز سيلس هدفاً أول لنيوكاسل (د:58)، وفي الدقائق الأخيرة من عمر اللقاء تحصل نيوكاسل على ركلة جزاء تقدم لها نيك فولتيمنده وسددها بمهارة عالية في الزاوية العليا على يمين الحارس سيلس هدفاً ثانياً لنيوكاسل (د:84)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز نيوكاسل يونايتد بهدفين دون مقابل.
وبهذه النتيجة يعود نيوكاسل لسلسلة الانتصارات محققاً فوزه الثاني ويصل للنقطة التاسعة في المركز الـ11، فيما تلقى نوتنغهام الخسارة الرابعة وتجمد رصيده عند خمس نقاط في المركز الـ17.
