أعلن النادي الأهلي المصري إقالة مديره الفني الإسباني خوسيه ريبيرو، بعد نحو ثلاثة أشهر فقط من توليه المهمة، بسبب تدهور النتائج.
وذكر النادي، في بيان نشره عبر موقعه الرسمي، أن مجلس الإدارة أنهى العلاقة التعاقدية مع ريبيرو بالتراضي، عقب اجتماعات بدأت في الحادية عشرة من صباح اليوم (الأحد) واستمرت عدة ساعات.
وأكدت لجنة التخطيط بالنادي تقديرها لما قدمه المدرب الإسباني منذ توليه المسؤولية، مشيرة إلى أنه بذل جهداً كبيراً، إلا أن النتائج لم تساعد على استكمال التجربة، في وقت يسعى الأهلي إلى تحقيق طموحات جماهيره الكبيرة على المستويين المحلي والقاري.
وتواصل لجنة التخطيط اجتماعاتها للوصول إلى التصور النهائي للجهاز الفني الذي سيقود الفريق خلال المرحلة القادمة، وفقاً لما ورد في البيان.
وكان الأهلي قد خسر أمام بيراميدز بهدفين دون رد، مساء أمس (السبت)، ضمن منافسات الجولة الخامسة من بطولة الدوري المصري الممتاز، ليتراجع إلى المركز الـ12 برصيد 5 نقاط فقط، من فوز وحيد وتعادلين وهزيمة.
The Egyptian Al Ahly Club announced the dismissal of its Spanish coach, José Ribeiro, after just about three months in charge, due to a decline in results.
The club stated in a statement published on its official website that the board of directors ended the contractual relationship with Ribeiro by mutual consent, following meetings that began at eleven o'clock this morning (Sunday) and lasted for several hours.
The club's planning committee confirmed its appreciation for what the Spanish coach has provided since taking on the responsibility, noting that he made a significant effort; however, the results did not support the continuation of the experiment at a time when Al Ahly is striving to achieve the great ambitions of its fans on both local and continental levels.
The planning committee continues its meetings to reach the final vision for the coaching staff that will lead the team during the upcoming phase, according to what was mentioned in the statement.
Al Ahly had lost to Pyramids by two goals to none last night (Saturday) in the fifth round of the Egyptian Premier League, dropping to 12th place with only 5 points, from one win, two draws, and one loss.
