دوّنت جنوب أفريقيا اسمها في سجل أبطال كأس الأمم الأفريقية تحت 20 عاماً، بعد فوزها بهدف دون رد على نظيرها المغربي في النهائي الذي أُقيم مساء الأحد على استاد الدفاع الجوي في العاصمة المصرية القاهرة.
وجاء هدف المباراة الوحيد بتوقيع كوموليمو كيكانا في الدقيقة 70، عقب تسديدة بعيدة المدى استغل خلالها تمريرة طويلة من الحارس فليتشر لويي سميت، وسط ارتباك دفاعي مغربي.
وشهد الشوط الأول حذراً من الطرفين مع قلّة في الفرص الواضحة، فيما اقترب المغرب من التسجيل مطلع الشوط الثاني عن طريق إسماعيل العاود، لكن حارس جنوب أفريقيا تصدى لمحاولته.
وضغط المنتخب المغربي في الدقائق الأخيرة، خصوصاً عبر جوناس العبدلاوي، غير أن الدفاع الجنوبي أفريقي حافظ على تقدمه، وكان قريباً من تعزيز النتيجة في الدقيقة 82 لولا تدخل الدفاع المغربي.
وفي وقت سابق، حسم منتخب نيجيريا المركز الثالث بعد تفوقه على مصر بركلات الترجيح (4-1).

South Africa etched its name in the record of champions of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, after winning 1-0 against their Moroccan counterpart in the final held on Sunday evening at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.
The only goal of the match was scored by Komolimo Kekana in the 70th minute, following a long-range shot that capitalized on a long pass from goalkeeper Fletcher Louis Smith, amidst Moroccan defensive confusion.
The first half saw caution from both sides with few clear chances, while Morocco came close to scoring at the beginning of the second half through Ismail Al-Aoud, but the South African goalkeeper thwarted his attempt.
The Moroccan team pressed in the final minutes, especially through Jonas Al-Abdallawi, but the South African defense maintained its lead and was close to doubling the score in the 82nd minute were it not for the intervention of the Moroccan defense.
Earlier, the Nigerian team secured third place after defeating Egypt in a penalty shootout (4-1).
