فيما تعرضت جنوب لبنان لقصف إسرائيلي عنيف سقط خلاله عدد من القتلى والجرحى، جدد وزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي، يسرائيل كاتس، اليوم (الأحد)، التأكيد أن قواته لن تنسحب من الجنوب حتى نزع سلاح حزب الله.
وقال كاتس في تصريحات صحفية اليوم: «لن ننسحب من المنطقة الأمنية في لبنان حتى نزع سلاح حزب الله»، معتبراً أن السيطرة على مرتفعات علي الطاهر تمثل إحكام القبضة الأمنية على جنوب لبنان.
وأشار إلى أن القوات الإسرائيلية تقدمت نحو علي الطاهر بعد معلومات أفادت بوجود أنفاق قيادة.
في غضون ذلك، قال الجيش الإسرائيلي إنه شن غارات جوية على جنوب لبنان، زاعماً أنها جاءت رداً على إطلاق حزب الله طائرات مسيّرة باتجاه جنوده في ما يصفها بـ«المنطقة الأمنية».
وأوضح أن جنوده أطلقوا النار وأسقطوا إحدى الطائرتين، مشيراً إلى عدم تسجيل أي إصابات في صفوفهم.
من جانبها، أكدت وزارة الصحة اللبنانية أن الغارات الإسرائيلية على جنوب لبنان اليوم قتلت 4 أشخاص، بينهم امرأتان، وأصابت 20 آخرين. وبحسب شهود عيان، فإن القصف استهدف منزلين، أحدهما مهدد بالقصف، في بلدة عربصاليم جنوبي لبنان.
وذكر الشهود أن القصف استهدف أيضاً مستشفى غندور، الذي تعرض للإنذار قبل قصفه، في بلدة النبطية الفوقا، وأظهرت اللقطات آثار الدمار والأضرار التي لحقت بمحيط المستشفى.
ونقلت صحيفة يديعوت أحرونوت عن مصادر قولها إن المستشفى الذي تعرض للهجوم في جنوب لبنان كان خالياً ويُستخدم مقراً لحزب الله، على حد زعمها.
While southern Lebanon was subjected to intense Israeli shelling that resulted in several casualties and injuries, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz reiterated today (Sunday) that his forces will not withdraw from the south until Hezbollah's weapons are dismantled.
Katz stated in press remarks today: "We will not withdraw from the security zone in Lebanon until Hezbollah's weapons are dismantled," considering that control over the Ali al-Taher heights represents a tightening of security grip on southern Lebanon.
He pointed out that Israeli forces advanced towards Ali al-Taher following information indicating the presence of command tunnels.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army stated that it carried out airstrikes on southern Lebanon, claiming that these were in response to Hezbollah launching drones towards its soldiers in what it describes as the "security zone."
It clarified that its soldiers fired and shot down one of the two drones, noting that no injuries were reported among them.
For its part, the Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed that the Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon today killed 4 people, including two women, and injured 20 others. According to eyewitnesses, the shelling targeted two houses, one of which was threatened with bombing, in the town of Arab Salim in southern Lebanon.
Witnesses mentioned that the shelling also targeted Ghandoor Hospital, which was warned before being bombed, in the town of Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa, and footage showed the destruction and damage that occurred around the hospital.
The newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted sources saying that the hospital targeted in southern Lebanon was empty and was being used as a headquarters for Hezbollah, according to their claims.
