أعاد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، اليوم (الجمعة)، نشر صورة عبر حسابه على منصة «تروث سوشال»، تُظهِر مضيق هرمز ضمن قائمة «الأراضي الأمريكية»، في رسالة رمزية جديدة تأتي وسط تصاعد المواجهة مع إيران.
وتحمل الصورة عنوان «U.S. Territories»، أي «الأراضي الأمريكية»، وتعرض أعلام عدد من الأقاليم والمناطق المرتبطة بالولايات المتحدة، فيما تظهر في أعلاها خريطة لمضيق هرمز محاطة بدائرة وإلى جوارها كلمة «NEW»، أي «جديد».
ولم يرفق ترمب الصورة بتعليق يوضح المقصود منها، كما لا يعني إعادة نشرها حدوث أي تغيير في الوضع القانوني أو السيادي للمضيق، الذي يشكل ممراً مائياً دولياً بين إيران وسلطنة عُمان.
وتأتي الخطوة امتداداً لتصريحات متكررة من ترمب بشأن السيطرة الأمريكية على حركة الملاحة في هرمز، بعدما أكد، أمس الخميس، أن المضيق مفتوح، وأن واشنطن تمسك بزمام الأمور فيه بالتزامن مع استمرار الحصار البحري على إيران.
من جانبه، أعلن قائد القيادة المركزية الأمريكية «سنتكوم»، الأدميرال براد كوبر، تحقيق ما وصفه ب«إنجاز كبير» في مضيق هرمز، مؤكداً أن القوات الأمريكية أزالت الألغام البحرية من ممرات الشحن الدولية المعترف بها.
وأشار إلى أن الألغام التي جرى التخلص منها زرعها الحرس الثوري الإيراني قبل أشهر، مضيفاً أن طرق العبور المعترف بها دولياً في المضيق أصبحت خالية من الألغام البحرية الإيرانية«.
وبحسب قائد»سنتكوم«، شارك غواصون تابعون للبحرية الأمريكية وقوات من»نافي سيلز"، إلى جانب طائرات تابعة لأفرع مختلفة من القوات المسلحة، في عمليات تطهير الممرات البحرية.
وكانت القيادة المركزية أعلنت منذ 11 أبريل الماضي بدء عمليات تهيئة الظروف لإزالة الألغام من المضيق. وكشف كوبر أن القوات الأمريكية ساعدت خلال الأشهر الماضية نحو 1500 سفينة تجارية على عبور المضيق، كانت تحمل مجتمعة نحو 750 مليون برميل من النفط الخام إلى الأسواق العالمية.
U.S. President Donald Trump today (Friday) reposted an image on his account on the "Truth Social" platform, showing the Strait of Hormuz as part of the list of "U.S. Territories," in a new symbolic message amid escalating tensions with Iran.
The image is titled "U.S. Territories" and displays the flags of several regions and areas associated with the United States, while at the top, it shows a map of the Strait of Hormuz surrounded by a circle, next to which is the word "NEW."
Trump did not accompany the image with a comment explaining its intent, nor does the reposting indicate any change in the legal or sovereign status of the strait, which serves as an international waterway between Iran and Oman.
This move follows repeated statements from Trump regarding U.S. control over navigation in Hormuz, after he confirmed yesterday (Thursday) that the strait is open and that Washington is in control of the situation there, coinciding with the ongoing maritime blockade on Iran.
For his part, the commander of U.S. Central Command "CENTCOM," Admiral Brad Cooper, announced achieving what he described as a "significant accomplishment" in the Strait of Hormuz, confirming that U.S. forces have removed naval mines from recognized shipping lanes.
He noted that the mines that were disposed of were planted by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard months ago, adding that the internationally recognized transit routes in the strait are now free of Iranian naval mines.
According to the CENTCOM commander, U.S. Navy divers and forces from the "Navy SEALs," along with aircraft from various branches of the armed forces, participated in the operations to clear the maritime routes.
The Central Command announced on April 11 that operations to prepare the conditions for mine removal from the strait had begun. Cooper revealed that U.S. forces have assisted around 1,500 commercial vessels in crossing the strait over the past months, which collectively carried about 750 million barrels of crude oil to global markets.
