السيسي يلتقي كوشنر.. غزة والشرق الأوسط على طاولة المباحثات

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi received Jared Kushner, son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, today (Sunday) in El Alamein. The meeting addressed Egyptian-American relations and developments in the Middle East, primarily the Palestinian issue and the Gaza file. El-Sisi emphasized the centrality of the strategic relations between Egypt and the United States, praising the level of cooperation and coordination between the two countries in various areas of mutual interest.

According to the spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, the meeting discussed the rapid developments in the Middle East. El-Sisi stressed the importance of continuing coordination between Cairo and Washington to face common challenges and support security and stability both regionally and internationally. The Egyptian president underscored the necessity of working towards resolving the crises in the region, in a manner that preserves regional stability and prevents the escalation of tensions and conflicts. The Palestinian issue and the Gaza Strip were a major part of the discussions, with both sides affirming the need for all parties to commit to fulfilling their obligations under the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which was reached during the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit in October 2025.

The meeting holds particular significance given Egypt's role in efforts to establish a ceasefire in Gaza and to follow up on the implementation of the understandings related to the agreement, alongside efforts aimed at ending the war and creating conditions for the reconstruction of the sector.

For his part, Kushner praised the level of close coordination between Egypt and the United States, expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by Cairo and President el-Sisi on regional issues. Kushner affirmed that Egypt represents a key partner for the United States in the Middle East.

The meeting between el-Sisi and Kushner comes at a time when the region is witnessing intense diplomatic movements regarding the future of the Gaza Strip, the future of the political settlement of the Palestinian issue, as well as other regional files that require Egyptian-American coordination, given Cairo's role in mediation and containing regional crises.
