أعلن الجيش الأمريكي أن الحصار البحري المفروض على إيران «لا يزال سارياً بالكامل». وأفادت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية «سنتكوم» بأنها قامت حتى 25 يوليو بتغيير مسار 12 سفينة تجارية حاولت اختراق الحصار، وعطّلت حركة سفينتين لم تمتثلا للأوامر، وصعدت على متن سفينتين لضمان الامتثال التام.
وذكرت أنه في وقت سابق من (السبت)، «أتمت القوات الأمريكية عملية صعود للتحقق من وضع الناقلة شارمينار M/T Charminar التي ترفع علم جزر القمر في بحر العرب، حيث تواصل الناقلة رحلتها الآن».
وتمكنت قوات القيادة المركزية يوم 24 يوليو من «تعطيل حركة الناقلة لافين M/T Lavine التي ترفع علم موزمبيق في خليج عُمان، بعد أن حاول طاقمها انتهاك الحصار عدة مرات وتجاهل تحذيرات متكررة، ولم تعد السفينة متجهة إلى إيران».
وشددت سنتكوم على أن القوات الأمريكية تظل «في حالة تأهب قصوى، وتركيز عالٍ، وجاهزية قتالية تامة».
وكانت الولايات المتحدة قد استأنفت الحصار البحري على إيران في 14 يوليو الجاري بسبب إغلاق طهران لمضيق هرمز.
وبات مضيق هرمز ورقة أساسية في الصراع في الشرق الأوسط. فبعدما أغلقته إيران خلال الحرب التي اندلعت في 28 فبراير، تصر على التحكم بحركة الملاحة فيه، وهو ما ترفضه واشنطن.
وأعلن الحرس الثوري الإيراني أخيراً أنه منع ناقلات نفط من عبور مضيق هرمز. وترد الولايات المتحدة على حظر إيران حركة الملاحة في هذا الممر بفرض حصار بحري على الموانئ الإيرانية.
The U.S. military announced that the maritime blockade imposed on Iran "remains fully in effect." The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that as of July 25, it had redirected 12 commercial vessels attempting to breach the blockade, disabled the movement of two vessels that did not comply with orders, and boarded two vessels to ensure full compliance.
It was mentioned that earlier on (Saturday), "U.S. forces completed a boarding operation to verify the status of the M/T Charminar, which flies the Comoros flag, in the Arabian Sea, where the tanker is now continuing its journey."
On July 24, CENTCOM forces were able to "disable the movement of the M/T Lavine, which flies the Mozambican flag, in the Gulf of Oman, after its crew attempted to violate the blockade multiple times and ignored repeated warnings, and the ship is no longer heading to Iran."
CENTCOM emphasized that U.S. forces remain "in a state of maximum alert, high focus, and full combat readiness."
The United States resumed the maritime blockade on Iran on July 14 due to Tehran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
The Strait of Hormuz has become a key card in the conflict in the Middle East. After Iran closed it during the war that broke out on February 28, it insists on controlling navigation in the strait, which Washington rejects.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard recently announced that it had prevented oil tankers from crossing the Strait of Hormuz. The United States responds to Iran's ban on navigation in this corridor by imposing a maritime blockade on Iranian ports.
