أعلن رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني رشاد العليمي القبض على أفراد الخلية المتورطة بمقتل مراسل قناتي «العربية/الحدث» محمد عيضة. وأكد العليمي، أمس الجمعة، أن أعضاء الخلية المتورطة بمقتل عيضة سيحالون للمحاكمة الأسبوع القادم.
وقتل عيضة في 25 يونيو إثر انفجار عبوة ناسفة استهدفت سيارته في مدينة المكلا بمحافظة حضرموت شرقي اليمن.
ولد محمد عيضة عام 1986 في مديرية شرعب بمحافظة تعز، وهو أب لولد و3 بنات.
بدأ مسيرته المهنية في صنعاء مصوراً تلفزيونياً لدى قناة «السعيدة» اليمنية، ثم عمل مع قناة «الحرة».
وفي أواخر عام 2018، تعرض للملاحقة ومحاولة الاعتقال من قبل مسلحين في صنعاء، بعدما اقتحموا منزله وتسببوا في ترويع أسرته ونهب ممتلكاته، ما دفعه إلى مغادرة صنعاء والانتقال إلى عدن، قبل أن يلتحق لاحقاً بالعمل مع «العربية» ويستقر في مدينة المكلا لمتابعة مهماته.
عمل مصوراً ومراسلاً متعاوناً مع «العربية» منذ عام 2019، إذ تولى تغطية أبرز الأحداث والتطورات السياسية والتنموية والأمنية في مناطق شرق اليمن، من ساحل ووادي حضرموت والصحراء وصولاً إلى محافظة المهرة.
وكان العليمي وجه بتشكيل لجنة عليا مشتركة للتحقيق في ملابسات اغتيال عيضة.
وتضم اللجنة ممثلين عن وزارة الداخلية، وجهاز أمن الدولة، والاستخبارات العسكرية، بالتنسيق مع اللجنة المشكلة من قيادة السلطة المحلية في محافظة حضرموت، بهدف كشف ملابسات الحادثة وتحديد المسؤولين عنها.
وأكد العليمي في بيان أن «الدولة لن تدخر جهداً في ملاحقة مرتكبي هذه الجريمة الإرهابية ومن يقف وراءها». وقال إن «الصحفي بشبكة العربية محمد عيضة كان ينقل الحقيقة من اليمن بمهنية وشجاعة».
The President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, announced the arrest of members of the cell involved in the murder of the correspondent for the "Al Arabiya/Al Hadath" channels, Mohammed Aida. Al-Alimi confirmed yesterday, Friday, that the members of the cell involved in Aida's murder will be referred to trial next week.
Aida was killed on June 25 when a bomb targeted his car in the city of Mukalla in Hadhramaut province, eastern Yemen.
Mohammed Aida was born in 1986 in the Shar'ab district of Taiz province, and he is a father of one son and three daughters.
He began his professional career in Sana'a as a television cameraman for the Yemeni channel "Al-Saeeda," and later worked with "Al-Hurra" channel.
In late 2018, he faced pursuit and an attempted arrest by armed men in Sana'a, after they stormed his home, terrorized his family, and looted his belongings, prompting him to leave Sana'a and move to Aden, before later joining "Al Arabiya" and settling in Mukalla to continue his assignments.
He worked as a cameraman and a cooperating correspondent with "Al Arabiya" since 2019, covering major political, developmental, and security events and developments in eastern Yemen, from the coast and valley of Hadhramaut to Al-Mahrah province.
Al-Alimi directed the formation of a high joint committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding Aida's assassination.
The committee includes representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the State Security Agency, and military intelligence, in coordination with the committee formed by the local authority leadership in Hadhramaut province, with the aim of uncovering the circumstances of the incident and identifying those responsible.
Al-Alimi confirmed in a statement that "the state will spare no effort in pursuing the perpetrators of this terrorist crime and those behind it." He stated that "the journalist with Al Arabiya, Mohammed Aida, was conveying the truth from Yemen with professionalism and courage."
