استدعت وزارة الخارجية القطرية (الثلاثاء) نائب السفير الإيراني في الدوحة محسن محمد قانعي، وسلّمته مذكرة احتجاج رسمية أعربت فيها عن إدانة قطر واستنكارها الشديدين لاستهداف الناقلة القطرية الركيات، أثناء عبورها قرب مضيق هرمز.
وأكّدت الخارجية القطرية في بيان أن هذا الاعتداء يمثل انتهاكاً خطيراً لسلامة الملاحة الدولية، وتهديداً مباشراً لأمن إمدادات الطاقة العالمية، وخرقاً واضحاً وصريحاً لقواعد القانون الدولي.
وقالت الخارجية القطرية في بيان إن مدير إدارة المراسيم بالوزارة إبراهيم بن يوسف فخرو سلم مذكرة الاحتجاج خلال استدعائه لنائب سفير إيران محسن محمد قانعي.
وأشارت إلى أن المذكرة تضمنت رفض دولة قطر القاطع لهذا الاعتداء وما يمثله من مساس بأمن الملاحة الدولية واستقرار المنطقة، مطالبة إيران بالوقف الفوري لأي ممارسات تمس أمن المنطقة، والكف عن تعريض أمن الملاحة الدولية وإمدادات الطاقة العالمية للخطر.
وشدّدت الوزارة على احتفاظ دولة قطر بكامل حقوقها في اتخاذ ما تراه مناسباً وفقاً للقانون الدولي لحماية مصالحها ومقدراتها، إضافة إلى مطالبتها إيران بتقديم توضيحات عاجلة بشأن هذا الاستهداف، واتخاذ إجراءات فورية تحول دون تكراره، والالتزام الكامل بقواعد القانون الدولي ذات الصلة.
وكانت هيئة عمليات التجارة البحرية البريطانية قد قالت إنها تلقت بلاغين بشأن تعرض ناقلتين لهجمات خلال عبورهما مضيق هرمز.
وأعلن مركز المعلومات البحرية المشترك رفع مستوى التهديد الأمني البحري في مضيق هرمز إلى شديد.
وذكرت الهيئة أن الناقلة في الواقعة الأولى تعرضت لضربة بمقذوف مجهول، ويعتقد أنها أصيبت بأضرار في هيكلها، وفي واقعة أخرى، تعرضت ناقلة لهجوم بطائرة مُسيرة مجهولة وأصيبت بأضرار بسيطة في الهيكل.
ولم ترد تقارير عن وقوع ضحايا جراء الهجومين أو آثار بيئية، فيما قالت الهيئة إنها تواصل التحقيق في الحادثة، ونصحت السفن بالعبور بحذر، والإبلاغ عن أي نشاط مشبوه.
ونقل تلفزيون «برس تي في» الإيراني عن مسؤول قوله: إن حركة المرور في مضيق هرمز تتم وفقاً لترتيبات إيران.
وتحمل الناقلة القطرية غاز طبيعي مسالاً وتعرضت للهجوم أثناء خروجها من مضيق هرمز.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian Deputy Ambassador in Doha, Mohsen Mohammad Ghanei, on Tuesday, and handed him a formal protest note expressing Qatar's strong condemnation and denunciation of the targeting of the Qatari tanker Al-Rukayat while it was passing near the Strait of Hormuz.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry confirmed in a statement that this attack represents a serious violation of international navigation safety, a direct threat to global energy supply security, and a clear and explicit breach of international law.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry stated in a statement that Ibrahim bin Yusuf Fakhroo, Director of the Protocol Department at the ministry, delivered the protest note during the summoning of the Iranian Deputy Ambassador Mohsen Mohammad Ghanei.
It pointed out that the note included Qatar's firm rejection of this attack and what it represents in terms of undermining international navigation security and regional stability, demanding that Iran immediately cease any practices that threaten the security of the region and refrain from endangering international navigation and global energy supplies.
The ministry emphasized that the State of Qatar retains all its rights to take what it deems appropriate under international law to protect its interests and resources, in addition to demanding that Iran provide urgent clarifications regarding this targeting and take immediate measures to prevent its recurrence, and fully comply with the relevant rules of international law.
The British Maritime Trade Operations reported that it received two alerts regarding two tankers being attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The Joint Maritime Information Center announced an increase in the maritime security threat level in the Strait of Hormuz to high.
The agency mentioned that the tanker in the first incident was struck by an unknown projectile, and it is believed to have sustained damage to its hull, while in another incident, a tanker was attacked by an unknown drone and sustained minor damage to its hull.
No reports of casualties from the two attacks or environmental impacts have been reported, while the agency stated that it continues to investigate the incident and advised vessels to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity.
Iranian television "Press TV" quoted an official as saying that traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is operating according to Iranian arrangements.
The Qatari tanker was carrying liquefied natural gas and was attacked while exiting the Strait of Hormuz.
