أعربت وزارة الخارجية عن إدانة المملكة العربية السعودية بأشد العبارات قيام الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية باستهداف الناقلة السعودية (وديان) خلال عبور الناقلة مضيق هرمز، واستهداف الناقلة القطرية (الركيات)، وتأكيدها أن هذه الاعتداءات المرفوضة هي اعتداء على أمن الملاحة الدولية وسلامتها، وعلى أمن إمدادات الطاقة العالمية.
وقالت الوزارة في بيان: «المملكة تؤكد أن استمرار إيران في شن هذه الاعتداءات يعد انتهاكاً جسيماً للقانون والأعراف الدولية، ولقرار مجلس الأمن رقم 2817، التي تكفل حرية الملاحة البحرية والعبور الآمن للممرات البحرية، وتشدد على مطالبتها لإيران بالوقف الفوري لكل ما من شأنه تهديد أمن المنطقة وسلامة الملاحة الدولية وإمدادات الطاقة، وتؤكد تحميل إيران المسؤولية الكاملة عن هذه الاعتداءات وأضرارها وتداعياتها كافة».
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's condemnation in the strongest terms of the Islamic Republic of Iran's targeting of the Saudi tanker (Wadiyan) while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, and the targeting of the Qatari tanker (Al-Rukayat). It affirmed that these unacceptable attacks are an assault on the security and safety of international navigation and on the security of global energy supplies.
The ministry stated in a statement: "The Kingdom confirms that Iran's continued perpetration of these attacks constitutes a serious violation of international law and norms, and of Security Council Resolution 2817, which guarantees freedom of maritime navigation and safe passage through maritime corridors. It emphasizes its demand for Iran to immediately cease all actions that threaten the security of the region, the safety of international navigation, and energy supplies, and it holds Iran fully responsible for these attacks and all their damages and consequences."
