أعلن المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية القطرية، ماجد الأنصاري، أمس (الأربعاء)، اختتام الاجتماعات المنفصلة مع المفاوضين الأمريكيين والإيرانيين.
وكتب الأنصاري عبر حسابه على منصة «إكس»: «اختتم الوسطاء القطريون والباكستانيون، اليوم في الدوحة، اجتماعات منفصلة مع المفاوضين الأمريكيين والإيرانيين، حيث أُحرز تقدم إيجابي بشأن القضايا المتعلقة بمذكرة التفاهم الموقعة في إسلام آباد، استناداً إلى مخرجات قمة بحيرة لوسيرن».
وأضاف: «اتفقت الأطراف على مواصلة المناقشات خلال الفترة القادمة، على أن يُحدد موعد الاجتماع القادم في أقرب وقت ممكن بعد انتهاء مراسم تشييع المرشد الأعلى الإيراني السابق علي خامنئي». ولم يقدم المتحدث القطري مزيداً من التفاصيل بشأن طبيعة التقدم الذي تحقق أو الملفات التي تناولتها الاجتماعات.
من جهة أخرى، نفى رئيس البرلمان الإيراني، محمد باقر قاليباف، السماح للوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية بتفتيش المنشآت النووية الإيرانية.
وقال قاليباف: «لا صحة لما أُشيع عن سماحنا للوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية بتفتيش منشآتنا التي تعرضت للقصف»، مضيفاً: «تعهدنا بمنح الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية إمكانية تفتيش محطة بوشهر ومفاعل طهران البحثي».
وتوصلت الولايات المتحدة وإيران إلى تفاهم بشأن الإفراج عن دفعة أولى من الأموال الإيرانية المجمدة والمحتجزة في قطر، بحسب موقع «أكسيوس».
ونقل الموقع عن مصدر إقليمي قوله إن مبلغ 3 مليارات دولار لن يُحوَّل إلى إيران نقداً، موضحاً أن البنك المركزي الإيراني سيتمكن من استخدامه لشراء سلع إنسانية، على أن يأتي جزء منها، على الأقل، من السوق الأمريكية.
كما نقل الموقع عن مصدرين إقليميين قولهما إن الاجتماعات الجارية في قطر بشأن تنفيذ مذكرة التفاهم بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران سارت بشكل جيد، ومهدت الطريق للمحادثات الفنية، مبيناً أن القضايا الرئيسية التي نوقشت في الدوحة شملت الوضع في مضيق هرمز، والأصول الإيرانية المجمدة، ووقف إطلاق النار في لبنان.
The spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid Al-Ansari, announced yesterday (Wednesday) the conclusion of separate meetings with the American and Iranian negotiators.
Al-Ansari wrote on his account on the "X" platform: "Qatari and Pakistani mediators concluded today in Doha separate meetings with the American and Iranian negotiators, where positive progress was made regarding the issues related to the memorandum of understanding signed in Islamabad, based on the outcomes of the Lake Lucerne summit."
He added: "The parties agreed to continue discussions in the coming period, with the date for the next meeting to be determined as soon as possible after the funeral ceremonies for the former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei." The Qatari spokesperson did not provide further details regarding the nature of the progress achieved or the topics addressed in the meetings.
On another note, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, denied allowing the International Atomic Energy Agency to inspect Iranian nuclear facilities.
Qalibaf stated: "There is no truth to the rumors that we allowed the International Atomic Energy Agency to inspect our facilities that were subjected to bombing," adding: "We committed to granting the International Atomic Energy Agency the ability to inspect the Bushehr plant and the Tehran research reactor."
The United States and Iran reached an understanding regarding the release of an initial tranche of frozen Iranian funds held in Qatar, according to Axios.
The site quoted a regional source as saying that the amount of $3 billion will not be transferred to Iran in cash, explaining that the Iranian Central Bank will be able to use it to purchase humanitarian goods, with at least part of it coming from the American market.
The site also quoted two regional sources as saying that the ongoing meetings in Qatar regarding the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran have gone well, paving the way for technical talks, noting that the main issues discussed in Doha included the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, frozen Iranian assets, and the ceasefire in Lebanon.
