أكد رئيس الوزراء وزير الخارجية القطري الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني دعم بلاده لكافة مسارات المحادثات المنبثقة عن مذكرة التفاهم، وصولاً إلى حل شامل ومستدام، وذلك خلال لقائه المبعوثين الأمريكيين ستيف ويتكوف وجاريد كوشنر في الدوحة.
وأفادت وكالة الأنباء القطرية (قنا) بأن الاجتماع استعرض آخر تطورات المحادثات الجارية بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران في إطار مذكرة التفاهم بين الطرفين، والجهود الرامية إلى تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة عبر الحوار والدبلوماسية.
كما تناول الاجتماع مستجدات الأوضاع الإقليمية، ولا سيما وقف إطلاق النار في لبنان، مع التأكيد على أهمية تثبيته والبناء عليه بما يحفظ وحدة لبنان وسيادته واستقراره.
وأوضح آل ثاني أن قطر مستمرة في جهود الوساطة، ودعمها لكافة مسارات المحادثات المنبثقة عن مذكرة التفاهم، وصولاً إلى حل شامل ومستدام يعزز أمن المنطقة، ويصون مصالح شعوبها، ويدعم الأمن والسلم الدوليين.
من جانبهما، أعرب المبعوثان الأمريكيان عن تقدير الولايات المتحدة للدور الذي تضطلع به قطر، بالشراكة مع باكستان، في تيسير مسار المحادثات، مؤكدين التزام واشنطن بمواصلة المسار التفاوضي ودعم الجهود الدبلوماسية الهادفة إلى التوصل إلى اتفاق شامل.
وكان نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جي دي فانس قد سخر أمس (الثلاثاء) من نفي إيران إجراء مفاوضات، معتبراً أن ذلك أسلوب غير مفهوم.
وقال فانس: «الرئيس دونالد ترمب مستعد لإلقاء القنابل من جديد»، مضيفاً: «نريد من إيران التزامات دائمة يمكن التحقق منها بشأن نزع سلاحها النووي».
ولفت إلى أن المحادثات الفنية مع إيران تستند إلى المفاوضات التي أُجريت سابقاً، موضحاً أن الرئيس ترمب طلب من فريقه المفاوض الاستناد إلى مذكرة التفاهم لإعادة إمداد الاقتصاد العالمي بالنفط، ثم تقييم مسار التطورات بعد ذلك.
وأشار إلى أن قدراً من عدم اليقين لا يزال قائماً، وأنه لا يمكن الجزم بما سيقدم عليه الإيرانيون، مبيناً أن الخيارات تتمثل إما في السعي إلى اتفاق طويل الأمد مع إيران، شريطة أن تغيّر سلوكها، أو الاكتفاء بتثبيت المكاسب التي تحققت.
The Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, affirmed his country's support for all tracks of the talks stemming from the memorandum of understanding, leading to a comprehensive and sustainable solution, during his meeting with American envoys Steve Wittekov and Jared Kushner in Doha.
The Qatari News Agency (QNA) reported that the meeting reviewed the latest developments in the ongoing talks between the United States and Iran within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the two parties, and the efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region through dialogue and diplomacy.
The meeting also addressed the latest regional developments, particularly the ceasefire in Lebanon, emphasizing the importance of consolidating it and building upon it to preserve Lebanon's unity, sovereignty, and stability.
Al Thani clarified that Qatar continues its mediation efforts and supports all tracks of the talks stemming from the memorandum of understanding, leading to a comprehensive and sustainable solution that enhances the region's security, safeguards the interests of its peoples, and supports international peace and security.
For their part, the American envoys expressed the United States' appreciation for the role that Qatar plays, in partnership with Pakistan, in facilitating the negotiation process, affirming Washington's commitment to continuing the negotiation track and supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement.
U.S. Vice President JD Vance mocked Iran's denial of conducting negotiations yesterday (Tuesday), considering it an incomprehensible approach.
Vance said, "President Donald Trump is ready to drop bombs again," adding, "We want Iran to make permanent, verifiable commitments regarding its nuclear disarmament."
He pointed out that the technical talks with Iran are based on negotiations that were conducted previously, explaining that President Trump asked his negotiating team to rely on the memorandum of understanding to restore global oil supplies and then assess the course of developments thereafter.
He noted that a degree of uncertainty still exists, and it cannot be determined what the Iranians will do, indicating that the options are either to seek a long-term agreement with Iran, provided it changes its behavior, or to settle for consolidating the gains that have been achieved.
