كشف مسؤول حكومي عراقي أن رئيس الوزراء علي الزيدي أشرف بشكل مباشر على حملة اعتقالات استهدفت متورطين في شبهات فساد، مؤكداً أن العمليات نُفذت استناداً إلى مذكرات قبض قضائية.
وقال المسؤول إن الفرقة الخاصة وجهاز مكافحة الإرهاب شاركا في تنفيذ الاعتقالات، مبيناً أن الحملة لم تقتصر على بغداد، وامتدت إلى عدد من المحافظات العراقية.
من جهته، أفاد مصدر أمني لـ«عكاظ» أن العمليات شملت مناطق عدة في بغداد، بينها المنطقة الخضراء، واليرموك، والقادسية، والشعب، ومدينة الصدر، وزيونة، إضافة إلى تنفيذ اعتقالات في محافظات ميسان، وبابل، وديالى، وصلاح الدين.
وأضاف المسؤول الحكومي أن رئيس البرلمان هيبت الحلبوسي رفع الحصانة عن النواب المشمولين بالاعتقال، تزامناً مع العطلة التشريعية.
وأفادت المصادر بأن المنطقة الخضراء وسط بغداد لا تزال مغلقة حتى الآن، فيما تواصل القوات الأمنية العراقية تنفيذ عمليات تفتيش في محيطها.
An Iraqi government official revealed that Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi directly oversaw a campaign of arrests targeting those involved in corruption allegations, confirming that the operations were carried out based on judicial arrest warrants.
The official stated that the special forces and the counter-terrorism agency participated in executing the arrests, noting that the campaign was not limited to Baghdad and extended to several Iraqi provinces.
For its part, a security source informed "Okaz" that the operations included several areas in Baghdad, including the Green Zone, Al-Yarmouk, Al-Qadisiyyah, Al-Shaab, Sadr City, and Zayouna, in addition to carrying out arrests in the provinces of Maysan, Babel, Diyala, and Salah al-Din.
The government official added that Parliament Speaker Haibat Al-Halbousi lifted the immunity of the deputies involved in the arrests, coinciding with the legislative recess.
Sources reported that the Green Zone in central Baghdad remains closed until now, while Iraqi security forces continue to carry out search operations in its vicinity.
