أقر رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي السابق نفتالي بينيت، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، بتهريب أجهزة لاستقبال خدمة «ستارلينك» للإنترنت إلى إيران في السابق، لمساعدة المتظاهرين المناهضين للحكومة.
واتهم بينيت خلال حضوره قمة السياسة الدولية التي تنظمها وكالة الأنباء اليهودية في القدس، حكومة رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو بعدم مواصلة تنفيذ هذا المخطط، موضحاً أنه بادر بعملية شراء وتهريب عشرات الآلاف من أجهزة استقبال خدمة «ستارلينك» إلى إيران، مما كان سيسمح باستمرار خدمة الإنترنت وشبكات التواصل الاجتماعي.
وذكر بينيت الذي شغل منصب رئيس الوزراء في الفترة من 2021 إلى 2022، أن الهدف من الأجهزة كان تمكين المتظاهرين من التنسيق في ما بينهم وإسقاط النظام الإيراني.
وقال رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي السابق: «لسوء الحظ، توقفت الحكومة الإسرائيلية الحالية -التي لا تتمتع بالكفاءة- عن القيام بذلك، وعندما اندلعت الاحتجاجات، لم تكن تلك البنية التحتية جاهزة»، مشدداً على ضرورة الإطاحة بالنظام الإيراني.
ووجهت إيران اتهامات لإسرائيل والولايات المتحدة بتهريب «ستارلينك» دون ترخيص للعمل في إيران، بهدف تقويض أمنها، لكن إيلون ماسك قال من قبل إن الخدمة تعمل هناك.
وقطعت السلطات الإيرانية خدمة الإنترنت عن الشعب خلال فترات الاضطرابات، ومن بينها الاحتجاجات التي عمت البلاد في يناير، وأسفرت عن سقوط ضحايا وطوال فترة الحرب الأمريكية الإسرائيلية على البلاد.
The former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett acknowledged today (Tuesday) that he had previously smuggled devices to receive the "Starlink" internet service into Iran to assist anti-government protesters.
Bennett, speaking at the international policy summit organized by the Jewish News Agency in Jerusalem, accused the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of failing to continue implementing this plan, explaining that he initiated the purchase and smuggling of tens of thousands of "Starlink" receiver devices into Iran, which would have allowed for the continuation of internet service and social media networks.
Bennett, who served as Prime Minister from 2021 to 2022, mentioned that the aim of the devices was to enable protesters to coordinate among themselves and overthrow the Iranian regime.
The former Israeli Prime Minister said, "Unfortunately, the current Israeli government - which lacks competence - has stopped doing this, and when the protests erupted, that infrastructure was not ready," emphasizing the necessity of overthrowing the Iranian regime.
Iran has accused Israel and the United States of smuggling "Starlink" without a license to operate in Iran, with the aim of undermining its security, but Elon Musk has previously stated that the service operates there.
The Iranian authorities have cut off internet service to the people during periods of unrest, including the protests that swept the country in January, which resulted in casualties and throughout the period of the American-Israeli war on the country.
